kind of cool........
but kind of top heavy too..
and the jeep looks too small
Couple things to note
No roller fairlead on that winch
this tells me they don't have their shit together
and they want 60,000 for that thing
that would build one hell of a jeep with a shit ton of camping and recovery gear to put in it
Step 1: Buy a cheap Suburban
Step 2: Rework the running gear & add a 4" lift and any other off-road gear you wish
Step 3: Remove 3rd seat (just pull the handle and toss it in the garage)
Step 4: Place air mattress or whatever you want to sleep on in cargo area
Step 5: Add a decent roof rack for whatever you need
Step 6: Go anywhere these super expensive RV's take you
All quite a bit cheaper than the EarthRoamer and not as top-heavy. There are also some nice 4x4 Van RV's that aren't as top-heavy and probably a bit cheaper and have as much ground cleanance.

my gawd, they want 85,000 for the white one :o
a jeep you can shit in

And they're not even New!
One of the guys that works for them lives down the street.
Always a couple of the trucks out there.
Very Cool. [thumbsup]

See, Mother, if you were coming though Denver instead of AllButtCracky, you could check out the factory... Just a couple miles from here. ;D
I like it. Looks like they would be fun to take up to the mtns. I would think it just need some more rugged tires!

Whatever dewd...
Hawse fairleads work fine.
...that said, that thing's stupid.
Kinda cool if you've got too much money laying round and nothing to do with it.
I don't know, if I woke up the old Wagoneer from the back of the garage and put 10-15k into it, it would walk all over any of those fancy things.

They work great with synthetic rope instead of steel cable.
Its not even an RV, its a Jeep.

I think on the TOB someone posted about a guy that made a badass rv out of an old military truck. That was cool.

I'd rather just buy a unimog.
Yup. Traveled for three weeks using one in the Outback ~

i really like the idea behind this. if i had a few hundred thousand that i didn't mind parting with i'd prob buy one and have it upgreaded to my own needs.
(it would have to have satellite internet, a tv, and a playstation)

With a list that long the price has got to be big!

they do as long as your conditions are perfect
but
rarely is an unobstructed straight pull an option
and synthetic rope will fail if it gets damaged

i would hate to be the guy standing behind the jeep if said failure occurs.

Indestructible machine. We managed to kill to of those massive tires somehow. We carried two spares anyway. Not too bad on fuel considering it's size. Ours had and 8-speed gearbox w/ a forward/reverse transfer case of sorts. Very tough vehicle, very utilitarian, not exactly fast. It took some serious pounding the day we were on the Tanami track ~

Yup. Just hook one of the large snow-blower attachments to the front PTO output.
