Title: Anyone know where to get PitBull stands in Perth? Post by: goombah on January 30, 2009, 12:26:39 AM I've searched on here and the main forum but can only find shoddy looking US sites selling them. I've tried to order from pit bull's own site but I don't really want to pay over $500USD for shipping the stands that only cost $139USD...
I'm after this: http://www.pit-bull.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PBMSA&Product_Code=F0043-000&Category_Code=forward_handle_rear_stands (http://www.pit-bull.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PBMSA&Product_Code=F0043-000&Category_Code=forward_handle_rear_stands) or something similar, to use with these: http://www.motovationusa.com/mvstore/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=394 (http://www.motovationusa.com/mvstore/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=394) Anyone have any suggestions? anderson is one that comes to mind... http://www.andersonstands.com/ (http://www.andersonstands.com/) Title: Re: Anyone know where to get PitBull stands in Perth? Post by: loony888 on January 30, 2009, 03:33:12 AM pit bull are a good stand, apparently. i've never seen one, i have seen, and do use anderson stands, i have three of them and they all work well, good stable lift, light and easy to use but strong. why buy U.S when there's a local product that works well?

I just wanted one with a forward swinging arm, so I can hold onto the handle of the bike while I tilt the stand... others may not be as clumsy as I am, but you're talking to a guy who falls out of bed on regular occasions, walks into walls and bangs into things quite often. Dropping my new bike is something I'd like to take as many precautions against as possible :)

the pitbull looks easy to use, but i'll bet the guy in the vid has had a lot of practice, i can use my anderson with ease and i've never dropped a bike off one. the sss ones for S*R models are even easier. paul. Post by: goombah on January 30, 2009, 04:07:09 AM Yeah standard swing arm just with those motorvation sliders attached... there are other swingarms for it?
Figured a spool type setup would be better... for some reason? I don't actually know. ??? Title: Re: Anyone know where to get PitBull stands in Perth? Post by: loony888 on January 30, 2009, 04:41:06 AM no other swing arm for your model, i meant the single sided swingarm on the S2R, S4R bikes. the spools you mentioned, are they the cotton reels the stand pivots against? if yes, then yes, they make it easier to locate the stand and lift the bike, much less chance of scratching the swingarm too.
paul. Title: Re: Anyone know where to get PitBull stands in Perth? Post by: goombah on January 30, 2009, 04:45:35 AM Yeah the stand pivots on the sliders... thought it might make things easier.

I would think the space savers would be pretty difficult to operate on your own ... never want to try that. Sometimes I think it is the reason Jukie got me interested in riding, so I could help with that sort of thing [roll] |
