Title: Streetfighter Preview at Motohio in columbus OH photos and video
Post by: vw151 on January 30, 2009, 10:17:55 AM
I had posted this stuff in the other thread but it's at the end.  I figured I'd dedicate a single thread to the pics so everyone looks at it.  I thought the bike looked really good in person.

I posted in that other forum where you are limited to 4 photos in a thread as well.  I thought you all might find it humorous.  Here it's quoted, in case they take it down.

not sure why this link wouldn't link before.  I got rid of the DNS and just linked to the IP.  Seems to work now.

Thanks! The bike looks tiny next to normal sized man  [thumbsup], I love the dual shotgun style exhausts, but the stockers look massive. The aftermarket is going to have a field day with the streetfighter!

They should work on that POS stock hugger.
That's the worst part of that bike. Flimsy piece of plastic that's not supported well at all.

It is a great looking bike otherwise. It may get me to sell my S4R I said I would never sell.. [coffee]

I'm sure it's because they want you to buy the CF version.

Put a round headlight on it and some high mount pipes (one on each side)... and call it Monster.

For whomever buys one, from "dumbest question about your bike" (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=2024.msg332899#msg332899) thread:

I had a person ask me today "so how hard is it to ride 200+ with that little fairing?"  I responded "after it goes past 190 a bright pink full fairing folds out of the gas tank"

[laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

I got that same question once on my Monster.

Now I have an 848, full fairing... I can't tell much difference at +100 with the fairing or without. I mean ya, a little less wind. But omfg, at +100, it's mother 'effing windy one way or another. It's not like you fly more straight with a fairing.  [laugh]

Funny,  I have ridden my monster for a few years, and I've also ridden a 999 at 140+  I have to say the 999 was way less windy at those sort of speeds.  The monster makes me feel like I'm going to get plucked off the bike.  The 999, you just get tucked and go.  Not to mention the 999 really feels awkward at any speeds but suicidal.    Maybe it's just more natural to get tucked on the superbike

I agree. The SBK's definitely get you into high speed position better. I always attributed that stability to the windscreen and the riding position more than the fairings.
Then again I've never gone anywhere near 200! I imagine at 200, everything slippery counts double.

Speaking of SBKs I am interested to see how the under seat exhausts match up to  the streetfighter.  I think it'd look badassed with an under seat exhaust.

Is the Street Fighter the same wheel base as the SBK's? It looks like a 1098, sans fairings, with funny headlight. Very similar tank, same seat etc.
Is it the same frame?

Most of it is gorgeous. I'd change a bunch of bits on it...

Check it out the comparison: SBK no fairings. I wish they would have put double headlights on it. blah blah blah
