Title: Returning to CAM... and a question about a (gasp) suzuki
Post by: monarc on February 02, 2009, 01:17:24 PM
Hello all,

My name is Patrick.... years back i was a pretty active member of cam - the early days of the Rhodeside meet ups and Bill's heavily organized spring and fall meet-ups (i read what happened to Bill and my heart broke).  I rode a yellow '98 monster that i tore down, rebuilt, tore down, and rebuilt yearly with help and advice from a number of you.  But...  I bought a house, started rebuilding the house, got married and assumed the life of a responsible guy. a few years back rather than hang onto the bike that i wasn't riding i sold her off to a someone just like me 5 years younger.  Standard regrets apply.

Anyhow, i'm returning to the fold - this time with a project bike first - a 73 honda cb350.  something to tinker with that the wife can eventually ride -she's licensed and even rode the old monster a few times though it was too big for her (out of context that sounds hilarious).  but right now i have a some questions for the local riders about something else entirely:

Does anyone want to buy a 2007 GSXR 750?  Does anyone know anyone looking for a deal on a used GSXR 750? Possibly a track bike?

A good friend's ex husband past away... and left her his GSXR... she wants nothing to do with it so has asked for help selling it.  I've brought the bike home to go over it - she's pulling the title info from Maryland.  We have very little history on the bike.  It was an ebay purchase from May - original Ebay invoicing for $6600.  it is not worth $6600.  it's been registered and Titled in MD for the last year.  It has been down - looks like tipped over in the garage as one mirror is broken and some scuffs on the right plastic and it's all around a bit dirty and lazily cared for.

I'm contacting here first as i thought someone might want to make an offer to get a no hassle deal.  I don't have the complete history on the bike but I am trying to find out.  Charging the battery now to take it out for a shake down.  I don't know Gixxers like i know ducati's but i'm going to try to track some of it's history.  I think it's ideal for a low mileage track bike.

I'll likely end up on craigslist wading through the many stunter inquiries... but i thought who knows, perhaps the local boys might be interested.  She just wants it gone and I just want to do right for her as she got stuck paying for an ex-husbands funeral.  :-\

Also, as my heads been out of bikes for a while i'll solicit any advice for safely and responsibly selling this bike.   [thumbsup]
