Title: 999R wheels fitment question
Post by: dansamp on February 04, 2009, 05:15:18 PM
Hello There,
not sure where to post this Question

I have an opportunity to purchase some wheels off of a 999R forged aluminum

and am wondering if they will fit on my 95 900SS which has a 996 SBK front fork set up

thanks

Dan........ [drink]

unlikely... iirc, the 999 superbike axles are larger, the swingarm spaces the wheel differently, and the R brake rotors have a different offset....

Also 999 rotors = 5 bolt

996sbk = 6 bolt

AND, 999 rotors are 15mm offset, 916 rotors are 10.

To my knowledge, there are no 5 bolt (999-1098) 10mm offset rotors, they are all 15mm now.

Let me know please if you decide to pass on the wheels.  I need a forged 999 wheel for the front (bolt on s4r/s4rs w/5 bolt rotors)
