Title: Ducati immobilizer System Post by: spawn21 on February 04, 2009, 10:15:45 PM Is there any place in Sydney that i could go and disable the immobilizer System??
Cuz i have a Short circuit on my hi-beam another day, it blew up my 15amp fuse for the headlight, taillight and the gauge. Ever since then the immobilizer System can not be able to recognize my key. I have opening up the gauge and check the motherboard, seem like there is a resistor and a transistor blew with in the circuit where i cannot find a replacement for it. So i have left with three choices: 1) Buying another BRAND NEW gauge from fraser which will cost $1,200 :'( 2) Somehow disable the immobilizer system inside the ECU (I know there are shops offer such thing in US, but i am not sure whether there is any place here do the same thing??) 3) Use the twist throttal method to by pass the immobilizer System everytime when i start up the engine [bang] P.S. I recommend all ducati owner learn the process of using the electronic code, it may become handy someday. Title: Re: Ducati immobilizer System Post by: DUCMONROB on February 05, 2009, 01:41:45 AM The pickup runs straight to the ECU.
There could be a problem with the wiring being burnt/ open circuit. The wiring that picks up the signal is very fine and wrapped around the ignition lock a couple of hundred times. To blow a 15 amp fuse is alot of power which also could have spiked the ECU or the key if it was near by. Have you tried your other key? tried to reset the ecu by disconnect the power. Nothing change. i checked the sensor around the ket guard, it seem to LOOK fine!! (can't think of a way to test it, unless i have another monster that i can plug in and test) And since the entire bike works fine except the immobilizer system, i assume that the ECU is functionable. Hence, i believe it is the gauge causing the problem. :'( Maybe i should run a digital test on the gauge to find out the exact problem. Are there any place in Sydney could offer this kind of service? Was there yesterday & they had a little board saying they had the machine to do this stuff now.

He was buying a Ducati diagnostic machine but that could have changed when he took on the Kawasaki dealership. Ron is in Alexandria. Yep, him too, if you can get them to look at it :-\ Busy busy boys. I don't know if it is any good or not but the board said it was a TEXA diagnostic machine. I don't know if that would help your fault but you never know. Title: Re: Ducati immobilizer System Post by: pigmy on February 05, 2009, 08:50:30 PM dont panic you can bypass the hi beam from your gauge.we had to do this for my indicators.first find the fault.good luck.(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3048/2777811572_92502f7e2b_m.jpg) (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3215/2777815614_fe7b65cc5e_m.jpg)
