Title: To anyone riding around Manhattan - NEVERMIND!!
Post by: tommys67 on May 13, 2008, 06:42:33 PM
I'm not gonna say where it is, but if you are downtown, and feeling like a good samaritan, could you check and see if my faceless bike is OK?

I need to replace the headlight, front signals and handlebar before I put it back in the  garage.  (guess what I'm doing tomorrow).  So it's on the street for the next few days.  May of you know what my bike looks like, I'll be happy to say in a PM exactly where it is if you wanna see the carnage!! [thumbsup]

Thanks!

Hit me up too Tom. I live in the financial district and getting anywhere downtown is easy for me.

Tommy,
I'm in E.Village.  PM me if you want me to eyeball it.

Tom, I would suggest covering the bike, particularly if it looks like a non-running specimen.

1843-bike fine. You got a long chain lock? Also if you need it I've got some stock signals.

Guys - Thanks so much.

Just got done with a lot of work tonight - and may actually put it in the  garage tomorrow.

It's gonna be a few more weeks until I'm back riding - not because of the bike, but family stuff.

Tommy,
I don't want to be alarmist, but did you move your bike last night?  I stopped by on my way to the gym at ~2030 and did not see it at the old spot.

If you had looked down the street you'd have seen me working on it [thumbsup]

Guys, thanks so much for your care and concern.  The bike is now back in the garage - safe and secure.

I spent 6 hours on the bike Wednesday night, and 5 hours last night.  I am exhausted.

**Helpful hint - if anyone wants to meet insanely hot women (if guys if that's your preference ;D) just hang out on my block and work on your bike.  I have one word for one span of 15 minutes of bliss Wednesday night - TWINS!!**

The following are done - new headlight and brackets, new turn signals all around, permanent installation of resistors for signals, tail chop (Cookie1 kit), hugger removal, and the installation of extra brake light.

Still to be done - chain maintenance, clean-up of front end wiring, replacement of handlebar and grips, and a good thorough check (air pressure, etc.) and cleaning of the bike [thumbsup]

GC and Pak - I think I got this.  [moto]   Can I still ask for help with new tires soon, please?
