Title: AMA this weekend; Who's going?
Post by: jimboecv on May 13, 2008, 08:29:52 PM
I'm trying to play hookie Friday and make it and I'm there for sure Sunday.  Anyone want to ride out together?

I'll be in Chicago! Major bummer.

Hey Jim - check in with Enzo.  He's also playing hookie to go hang out on Fri.  I bet he'd like a riding buddy on the way out.  He and I will also be going on Saturday morning.  I don't know about Sunday.

I think first practice is around 11 on Friday, so I'm planning on showing up an hour or so earlier.

I'm ridding with my new boss today so if he's a complete tool like I'm expecting (I've known him for years) I may be slammed tomorrow with 'you're not doing it right's.  If he's overwellmed with my prestaged appointments  ;) then I'm off the hook and will be there around 10ish to about 3 or 4.
I may be forced to cage if leaving from oaktown.

Just checking in a bit late ... been out of town.

I'm interested in attending but don't know details since I've never checked out a race:

(1) What time are the races that you'll be watching Tigre and on what days?
(2) Where does everyone meet at the track? I caught the bit about DtM's motorhome/ark, but if I show up late where does everyone watch? From the stands or ??
(3) I saw a small blurb about parking ... is there a special place for Ducs to park? Do I need some sort of pass to get to the special parking areas?
(4) Are there many riders from the Bay area or do most of you cage it?
(5) Any other pointers and suggestions?

Thanks!  [thumbsup]

Steve races Saturday afternoon around 4:30 in FX.  I'd go to Steve's pit to check in and figure out where folks are.  Usually folks are scattered about the track.  It's not terribly crowded, so you'll be able to pick your favorite turn.  Popular options are 2, 9, 7 (way out there), the carousel and of course the north end of the grandstand.

Don't know much more about special Duc parking.  I'd highly recommend not driving.  It's not crazy like Laguna, but the bike is much more convenient, especially when leaving.

Wellp, looks like I'm leaving the house at o'dark:30 to visit la jobsiteita... in Aptos.

Fark.

But, gentile reader, admire my ability or gather yon flock, bringing said herd, via my orginizational skillz, together to enjoy all things mo-tastic.

You are blessed with my lack of presence tomorrow and you're quite welcome.

yeah I'm up for whatever.. kind of sucks that it's going to be so damn hot and that the SuMo race is pretty much the same time as Forumla Xtreme I'm hoping to make them both.

I just bought my ticket online...

Yikes! I just peeked at the weather and it's gonna be scorching. Tempting to go squidly but wouldn't feel comfortable doing so for a long ride.

Am I reading it right you guys will leave at 9:30 from SF for the track, then head off for a loop ride for lunch, then return for the race at 4:30-ish? Where do you guys meet up at? Mind if I join, at least for the ride to the track?

Which Sunday races have DMF/Tigerbike riders?  4:25 pm Formula Xtreme?  Others?

I haven't been following yer purdy little thread here, but I'm assuming y'all have seen this:  http://ducatimonsterworldwide.org/index.php?topic=748.msg5552#msg5552 (http://ducatimonsterworldwide.org/index.php?topic=748.msg5552#msg5552)

It might have some info about tomorrow that you didn't have.

Also, I think you can get $10 off coupons at Supercuts.  Walk in and grab 'em at the counter.
