I know they're not cartoons, but...

My wife and I were just showing our son some YouTube clips of Krofft show intros (HR Pufnstuf, Land of the Lost, Lidsville, etc.) He just got a scared look in his eyes, slowly backed out of the room, and muttered something about how now he finally had the explanation he'd been seeking for so long.

Ren & Stimpy as childhood cartoon?! You jest - they were on when I was in med school. If that era counted, I would have to say Dangermouse, no question.

Actual childhood? Captain Nemo, Crusader Rabbit. Echh.

Anyone ever went back to watch some of these shows and see how "fruity" they are?  I.E.  Smurfs (Obviously), but also Thundercats, He-Man, Silverhawks, Voltron..."And I'll form the HEAD!"

And wasn't it weird that no one ever died in GI Joe, not even the no-name cannon fodder characters.

I remember when I 1st noticed that as a kid.  All the cobra bubbles and plains getting blow to bits... but every time the pilots managed to parachute out...

Cheesy? yes.  better than what's on now?  yes.  God that makes me sound old.

Plus, from GI Joe you now know that no one can die in a war.  And knowing is half the battle.  They never did mention the other half of the battle...

Pinky and the Brain
good one  [thumbsup]
Whatchu want ta do tonight, Brain?

Oh, I definitely agree, better than today's by far.  I noticed, aside from cable channels, cartoons aren't even aired after school anymore.  In addition, the stuff on Saturday mornings?   :-X  Winx Club anyone?

Thank god for Adult Swim
