These tyres are made in South Carolina, USA.. SEE THROUGH TIRES Radical new tire design by Michelin.The next generation of tyres. They had a pair at the Philadelphia car show. The last picture shows how odd it looks in motion.... Makes you wonder how the ride feels doesn't it? The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these. Just think of the impact on existing technology: A. no more air valves... B. no more air compressors at gas stations... I reckon this would be a lot more comfortable than a solid rubber tyre. Read about them in one of the bike magazines last year I think.

How do you account for extra load? If I load up my Ute and hook up the horse float I recon they'd be done for. How will they work on Australia's dirt roads? Looks more like it'll end up in the same basket as those "double tyres" they were telling us we'd all have in the near future. The regular tyres fitted to an Audi A4 wouldn't perform very well in soft sand either. We can't expect this one particular tweel to be a race tyre, a sand tyre, a snow tyre etc... It's horses for courses. |
