I saw this Crash on TV a few nights ago.

He looks like he might have downshifted right before the turn or maybe into the turn. According to the TV show he was going about 45 mph on a casual ride. After the crash they said there was nothing on the road and they stated he was a very experience rider but who knows ???

Old Derby
Oh I figured that [roll]
Any old Crash Video can be a Derby. So whats your thought on the Crash ???
One of the elbow (left) is locked + Down shift with abrupt throttle input = tail wags. Then he target fixate
Just my guess
rough downshift, maybe some old tires?
mitt
Colonel Mustard on the Kawi with no counter steer
he had his friend filming. That always causes a crash.
He could have hit some sand, broke loose then was scared to lean in to make the curve because he was busy crapping himself.

Nobody give enough credit do Mrs White On the Suzuki with the steering Damper.
It almost looks like a heavy duty downshift causing a mini slid in the back followed by a chopping of the throttle. If he'd let it slide farther and then cut the throttle he would have highsided instead of just getting some power wobbles.
What'd he do wrong?
First, I'd say hitting the curb was a bad idea.
Then the part where he hits the pavement... that wasn't the right thing to do either.

Don't forget the part where he hit the wall...
My guess is bad downshift followed by target fixation on the wall

I'd say that's close to being correct. Or in honor of the Daytona 500, the NASCAR explanation:
"Well, he done got up in there and got all loose then he slid up into the wall. That wall're getcha if you's not careful."
I think we spent a long time analyzing this one before on TOB, but that was a while ago.
Like the others, I'm pretty sure it was a bad downshift (looks like he just dumped the clutch or dumped the clutch and unsuccessfully tried to blip). He had a chance to save it if he'd just let the bike move around and committed to making the turn. No such luck for Mr. Walleater McUpintheairstein.
Bad Downshift??? He pulls the clutch in and makes the shift, and then accelerates way before he loses traction. Look at where he is riding!....the SHOULDER!!.....in the MOUNTAINS!!! Any road, especially mountain roads, are notorious for loose particle buildup on the shoulder. Notice that this road also has a curb.....no chance for debris to escape, only buildup over time.
He accelerated on debris, lost traction, and target fixated on the immovable object! Case closed.

In general, we as a group do have a way with words, don't we? [beer]
The good thing is he up and over the wall like a bird. ;D
In a word, SQUID. For one, I think he was thinking about the camera. #2, I can't see any reason for crashing where he crashed, refer to #1. Why did he try to foot it? That wasn't a very experienced rider, that was a goober having his buddy film him showing off on his old 600 Ninja.
I doubt thats an experienced rider... as has been stated.. .his arms werent relaxed. the throttle was too abrupt and he was sitting on the seat to much. If he had more weight on the pegs rather than the seat.. the bike could have wobbled and he could have been able to just ride it through the corner with no issues.. i say there were many factors here.. excessively worn tires could be one of them too.
You notice how he picks his foot off the peg to try to catch himself.. this is a classic NEWB mistake... this puts ALL your weight on the seat and doesnt allow the bike to move under you.
it looks like road debris could have caused the rear tire to lose traction.
he crashed because he put his foot down. could have saved it if he stayed calm and rode the wobble out and stayed with the turn.

+1
crap on the road = lost traction, foot came out stopped steering how was it put earlier? target fixated? and wallop.
if he'd just tipped it in he'd have probably been ok.
It alot easier to say than do tho.
I've lost the rear on wet mud fixated on the kerb i was about to hit then before i had time to do anything i was sliding along the pavement on my back
