Title: What's my fork size?? Post by: DirtyDuc on February 17, 2009, 09:31:52 AM Ok, I have a 2000 m750 and I've been searching the board for this and thought that I had found that I have a 50mm fork. However, I'm looking at Oncycles.com and they say that the 53mm triple will fit monster 750 through 2001. So, does that mean I have a 53mm fork?
I don't have anything at home to measure it with and I want to upgrade to clip-ons and a billet triple. I just don't know what size I should be buying... Post by: 2001cromo on February 17, 2009, 09:52:29 AM All stock monsters (except the S4Rs & S4Rt, only cuz I haven't measured these myself yet to confirm) have 54/50mm bottom/top at the triples.
The reason that OnCycles has those 53mm top triples is because it's a 'fairly' common mod to put SBK fork legs on a monster and the SBK's are 53/53mm bottom/top. <-- I did this mod myself So if you want clip ons for your stock fork legs then you need 50mm. If you want that top triple then you need SBK legs and 53mm clip ons and a.5mm shim for the lowers. HTH ;) Title: Re: What's my fork size??
