Title: Re: FS: 2007 ZX-10R Post by: fastwin on February 24, 2009, 07:50:14 AM You should keep her around!! [clap] Mine keeps leaving the garage door open hoping they will all be stolen. When confronted she just acts indignant and somehow makes it all my fault! :P Gonna have to take away her door remote... or at least steal the battery. [thumbsup]

[thumbsup] just tell her that you will always have the last word. "yes dear" oh, un-program the remote and you're all set. when she wants it fixed tell her the new remotes are incompatible. In Sept/Oct of 2007 I was at Deals Gap for a week and the day before i came back to TX, she sends me a text message saying that she's taking the MSF class that weekend. I was all for it, but had hoped to be able to atleast show her the basics first. And give her the basic concept of shifting... She had never driven a stick either... anywho, she passes the class and decides to get a bike. As cliche as it is, i suggested a 250 ninja. small, lightweight, and not too powerful. She looked around for a month or so and eventually decided that a 500 ninja wasn't that much bigger but would hold resale better... Not being one to tell her she can't have or do something, I helped her find a deal on a used one... she didnt like any of them and insisted on getting as new as she could... So I find one in Houston that's at a dealer, an '07 with 30 miles on it.. we drive down, buy it, and bring it back to dallas. It sat long enough to drain the battery once we got it home.. and then she rode it in the parking lot for about 20 minutes. I took it to work a couple days... then one day I come home from a ride and find her sitting on a chait in the garage in tears because she wasn't strong enough to pick the bike up if it falls over. She had purposefully laid it over (dropped it) to practice picking it up. It sat on its side for 4 hours before i got home. So... I touch up the little scratches and put flushmount signals on.. .and she decides that the bike is just too big for her to handle. she could barely tiptoe, and couldnt move it around, put it on the center stand, etc. Another little while goes by and my 750 decides to crap out. On the way to go get a trailer to tow it to my work to tinker with it.. we stopped at the kawi dealer for parts... i fell in love with a blue zx10r and she offered her 500Ninja as a trade in for the down payment. then we got pregnant and had a baby... and she's been keepin an eye out for a 250 that she could actually move around and feel confortable on since she ignored my advice the first time around. Well, Saturday we stumbled across a Honda Nighthawk 250 in Oklahoma City on craigslist... I called, he still had it... after a bit of hassle and phone tag and planning to borrow a trailer the guy in OKC calls and says that the bike is probably sold. so i cancel the trailer and go about my business... then sunday morning i see it relisted in the OKC craigslist and I call to see whats up... the sale didnt go through. I tell him to screw with waiting, We're stopping at the ATM and we're on our way. So we get there and check it out... for a 94 its not in bad shape at all... I rode it back from about 50miles past OKC and while im sure it looked funny and the bike wouldnt go over 60 with my fat ass on it, it made it back to the house. So here it is... in the parking lot of the TX welcome center on 35 sunday night just before the sun went down and I about froze in my nice weather gear (wasn't planning on it taking FOREVER to get home) (http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b393/damien311/cb250.jpg) Title: Re: FS: 2007 ZX-10R Post by: muskrat on February 24, 2009, 12:56:10 PM but the fact she is going to ride with you makes the challenge of finally getting the bike so much better. [thumbsup]
Title: Re: FS: 2007 ZX-10R Post by: ♣ McKraut ♣ on February 24, 2009, 01:29:22 PM you know....if a 250 is what you want for her, you can always pick up one of these:
(http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/Gallery/Aprilia%20RS250%2000.jpg) in all honesty that's probably what i should have and actually learn some cornering skill at the track. Title: Re: FS: 2007 ZX-10R Post by: DLSGAP on February 24, 2009, 01:35:09 PM you mean the challenge of her riding with me ... probably wont happen often and when it does i'm sure she'd rather ride 2up...
Title: Re: FS: 2007 ZX-10R Post by: muskrat on February 24, 2009, 01:38:29 PM that's what I thought too. ;D
