I checked up on Google and it seems a number of race drivers live in Winter Haven, FL.

I'd be willing to bet one of them lives there. Cool idea though. I'd live to have that.  [thumbsup]

that is cool!
But in reality how often could you use it? I am sure the neighbors would be real cool with a few buddies over for a track day BBQ.

I guess my neighbors wouldn't like me for long!

I'm thinking the original track is a cart track. When I was in my mid teens I knew some guys that had some badass Go Carts. I wanted one bad . Never got one . Did get a Honda Sport 50 at age 16.

I could dig a track like that one for sure.      Dolph     :)

Half of my relatives have driveways like that... That's what you get when you live in rural SC... We tore that road up because my cousins used to have some bad a$$ go karts and I had my first bike, a Honda 80cc dirt bike. What I would give to go back to that place in time...

The architect/builder should have his/her license revoked.

I want one!!! Of course that much property out here would be a tad spendy.

I read on another forum, (WERA) from someone who researched this track. It belongs to a go cart racer, and apparently you can buy it for a little over $500K.

Look at the cars in the driveway pics... there is no way that could be real... there isn't a car out there that would make that.

Maybe all the residents drive rock-crawlers instead of cars.

The adjacent county to mine basically did that to some poor guy after the house had been there years.  They widened a road and as a result wiped out a good chunk of the dudes yard and turned a steep drive into an impassible grade - eyeball estimate is it's about a 15' drop over the length of 15-20'.  The detached garage is still there, facing out on the nice wider road... that cannot be accessed directly from that garage unless you're in a crawler or on a dirt bike.

But what ever contractor/architect put that development together needs a beating.

you know after looking at that picture... this is my take.

the developer did build a decent slope into the houses but due to city code put into place AFTER the initial development started the SIDEWALKS had to be put into place. thereby chopping 5-8 feet off the distance. increasing the slope angle from about a 30 deg to almost a 45 deg. HUGE difference.

I would totally invest in an [illegal] aftermarket driveway...

Ive been thinking (dreaming) about something like this for a long time, I wonder how much it would cost to build something about 0.5-1 mile long?  Hmm  maybe if I sell a kidney [moto]

i used to have a friend that would make things happen... he would go get the sand bucket by bucket from the beach, mix the concrete and build what he needed... cost was usually minimal and it was his sweat that made it happen.

meet a few friends at the local construction business, pre'sell' them time on the track and a few beers and who knows what could happen.
