DFWM,
TCHM lost a good friend and riding companion RipTearShred yesterday afternoon out @ 3 Sisters (337)......
Rich Carrol, while on a typical Sunday ride on a road he loved, fell off his S4R somehow........Life Flighted out, he died upon arrival to San Antonio Hospital.
Not much is known at this time........he was riding alone (which was the norm for Rich) and was found in the middle of the road by a passing motorist, awake but incoherant. No immediate evidence of animal collision was found...his helmet was apparantly unscathed and Cath seems to believe he died from internal injuries/bleeding on the medivac in.
Any updates will be in the TCHM board......
God Speed, Rich.............

Rest In Peace Rich. My prayers are with you and your family.
Tragic. :'(
RIP
My prayers are with his family and friends. :'(
very sad... RIP
Awful, just awful. My heart goes out to all of his friends and family. Tragic loss.
Possibly dodging a deer that he missed only to loose control and fall? Only he and God knows. But it doesn't matter. I am so sorry you all have lost a friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all and especially his family.
God speed.
Sad to hear the news of Rich's death. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
Sorry to hear this, prayers to the family and friends. :(
Our prayers are with him and his family. RIP
Please take this the right way... all of you, because I mean it the right way. At least he died doing something he loved to do. Hopefully he passed quickly and without a lot of pain. I have watched both of my parents, relatives and even friends leave this world after long, painfull, agonizing ordeals. Not good at all. We all suffered along with them and always wished they would finally slip away that night in their sleep. We never pick the time or manner but if I had to it wouldn't be in a hospital painfully withering away. It would be in a hundred different ways, one of which would be on a bike riding my favorite stretch of road. I have already had one practice run. We should all be so lucky.
I hope this hasn't offended anyone. I apologize if it has. Again, my deepest sympathy to Rich's friends and family.
+1 Brian.
The thought crossed my mind as well. When I go, I want it to be doing something I love.
This is so sad to hear; my condolences to his family and friends, especially those of you on THCM he knew as friends.
RIP!! What a tragic event.... I'm new here but live in DFWM area and can sympathize with this... My wholehearted condolences to his family and friends... Sometimes things outside our control happen.... My prayers will be with him and his family...

Quite right. To borrow a famous phrase, I would rather be shot out of a cannon than squeezed out of a tube.
May choirs of angels sing to his arrival in Paradise, and may he be in Heaven three days before the Devil even knows he's dead.
rest in peace, dude. hope you're already somewhere shredding some tires on a track.
We'll miss you Rich. :( Prayers and sympathies to your family, and fresh Pirelli diablos for you and your track thrashings in Heaven.
+1 your post Brian...at least he went out doing what he loved to do. No better way to go.

I couldn't have said it better.
Reminds me of a rodeo clown friend of mine who lost his 14 yr old son to bullriding. When asked what he would've done differently, he said "If I'd have known when his rope was pulled and he called for the gate that he would meet the Lord, i'd have told him to ride 'im pretty. he died doing what he loved."
Rest in peace Rich and may all your rides be pretty from now on.
Steve
