I thought it would be good to start a thread about experiences people have had in business transactions. Who did you order said product/service from and would you do business with them again. All motorcycle related of course. Give people the opportunity to Rant [bang] or Rave ;D about their experiences with, mail-order companies, dealerships, mechanics, painters, parts depts, etc. After-market products could continue to be reviewed in "Accessories & Mods," this would just be a thread for the customer service/business side of things. Perhaps this could be a permanant post, maybe even it's own category, for people to research on before they pull the trigger on something with their credit card. I don't know if something like this already exists on this board, or if it has been tried before but scuttled because of legal issues or business owners using it for shameless self-promotion. I'll start it out on a positive note:
I ordered a pair of Sidi boots from a website, www.newenough.com, and had a great experience. I ended up calling them to place my order, as I had a question about the color of the boots. I ordered Sidi Vertigo Airs (love em) and newenough.com was the only website I saw that acknowledged that Sidi was in the process of changing the colors on some of the armoring and bits on the boot. Not a drastic change, but enough to make a difference to a guy like me. For $300 bucks, I want what I want. So inventories of these boots can have either of the two different color schemes until the older one sells out. The website made a note of this (no other vendor seemed to acknowledge this) and the lady on the phone knew what I was talking about. She asked me which style I wanted, and assured me that I would get the right one. On top of that she was friendly and professional. They have great shipping policies/return policies, which is important for me living in Hawaii. They shipped the same day I ordered, Priority Mail for me, and the package came in 4 days. Stoked! :D They sell mostly apparel. I would order from them again.
I have nothing but nice things to say about Motowheels... [thumbsup]
I had ordered a pressure plate from them online which was a new design, and they charged my credit card for it almost right away. About 2 hours later, I recieved a very apologetic email saying that they were having design issues with that particular model and would not be able to ship it. They said they would be happy to ship another part of equal value in its place...
Seeing as how all I wanted was the pressure plate, I called Motowheels and said that I would hold off for now, and if they could refund my card, I'd appreciate it.. Sure enough, 2 days later, the money was credited back to my card. They were very cooperative and sorry they could not fill my order..
Just last week, I found the Pressure plate, cover, and springs kit on their website for $275 which seemed like a great deal, so I jumped on it....I just installed it the other day, and am very satisfied w/the product.
I would definitely recommend doing business w/Motowheels....They seem like really good people over there... [thumbsup]
Motorcyclecloseouts.com [thumbsup] Ordered a pair of Shift jeans last Thursday, and they arrived yesterday.
Chris from Motored-Sports is my personal hero! ;D No seriously though, he's always helpful and will do everything he can think of to help a guy out. [thumbsup] Basically just a good guy, I even enjoy just talking with him. Give him a shout if you need a part you're having a hard time finding.
I've had great experiences ordering from CA-Cycleworks (http://www.ca-cycleworks.com/) and Ducati Omaha (http://www.motospecialties.com/store.asp?store=DucatiOmaha). [thumbsup]
Newenough.com is all my all time favorite i have ordered multiple items from them. My best experience was last week i ordered tires on wednesday around 3pm and they arrived next day. Even though i didnt get next day air!!!
Motowheels is great too!! Always quick shipping and a great selection of products.
CRG's shipping department is kinda soso. They screwed up an 2 separate orders for me around x-mas time but they made right and upgraded the mirrors. So their customer service is A+ and i would do business again!!
GP Motorcycles in San Diego.
Best dealer I have ever encountered.
One of the reasons I keep buying Italian bikes is because of this dealer.
I have personally purchased 5 motorcycles from them and brought in a dozen or so people to buy bikes too. Everything from sales, parts, service, and accessories has been great. I couldn't ask for anything more in a dealer.
Have had great luck with sportbiketrackgear.com on several things
Had the worst experience ever with exoticsportbike.com Stay away from these guys as they are crooks!!
Jeff from MonsterParts and Jason from Department of Suspension are 2 top quality guys with exceptional businesses. Would do business anyday with either [thumbsup]
For anybody in the SF Bay Area, Nichols (http://www.nicholsmfg.com/service.html) is an excellent independent repair shop.
To the good: [thumbsup]
Chris CA-Cycleworks, they are always helpful, even when I called late they answered [thumbsup] [thumbsup]
Motowheels and Monsterparts were helpful in my rebuilding also. Thanks
Also ordered with great service, Bike Bandit and motorcycle superstore.

+1 on Nichols in Milpitas. They're friendly and take time to answer questions. Gotta wait though. That's the hard part.
Dealers in South Africa are known for bad service, Ducati Edenvale are the Best!!! [thumbsup]
I have had great luck with Cyclegear in San Antonio. I had to return a $400 dollar jacket and a $100 set of gloves that i bought for my girlfriend who recently decided she wanted to be my ex. They took it back after 2 months of hanging in my closet with no questions asked. I thought they were going to just give me store credit but they refunded my card instead. I promptly picked out a nice perforated leather jacket and a tankbag 5 minutes later. I've also had good dealings with motorcyclecarbs.com when I needed a fuel pump rebuild kit.
A super giant thumbs-up to Chris Kelly at ca-cycleworks.com. Absolutely stand-up guy, fantastic service, great prices, zero to complain about in many transactions with him. I would heartily recommend him to anyone. Also, for those of us in the SF Bay Area, +1 on Nichols and a big thumbs up for Desmotosport in SF. Great shop, great service, great prices.
