so i have a 999 shock and need to relocate my rear coil (i also want to ditch the side covers). i have a few ideas, but was wondering what other have done. any pics?

its not going anywhere far without new wires.
was the coil in that picture? looked like there was a rectifierresting on some cardboard... I don't know that cardboard mounts are a great idea. these bikes do vibrate a bit much for that...

you serious? i make all the panels and mounts from cardboard and then transfer to aluminum.
and no, the coil typically lives where the shock reservoir is.
i always thought it was common to move the coil and take the side covers off, maybe not.

No one i know moves them, they are pretty hidden. I plan on moving mine once i find loose wire.
I did a 999 Matris shock on my S2R1K and I had to relocate the coil and voltage regualtor.

ahh, you moved the regulator further to the rear... i was planning on using the one frame tab, but maybe i need to rethink that.

if you are going to move your regulator at all you should seriously consider putting it somewhere it can get more air flow. and use both bolt holes to secure it, that heat sink is just cast metal.

It is secured with both holes, it's just in that pic that its not.
I thought about flipping it, or putting it somewhere with more ventilation, but the position that it's in is already an improvement over stock.
