Title: 748 wheels to fit a S2R 800?
Post by: CairnsDuc on February 27, 2009, 12:22:18 PM
G'day all

Just wondering if anyone would know, I may have an opportunity to get hold of some 748 wheels from a bike that has had about 3 engines go through it (very long story) and I love the 3 spoke look.  [thumbsup]

I did some searching and couldn't find answer, As posted, would they fit?
Would I have to change forks?
(I could probably get a hold of them if I need to and get them serviced and setup correctly)

Thanks for any advice offered.  ;)

I'm pretty sure the rear fits just fine. As for the front, other than maybe having brake compatibility issues, I don't see anything that wouldn't fit.

The thing is, your 5 spokes are already lighter than the three spokes. You would lose performance and handling. Is that something that you're willing to sacrifice?

To be honest, the old girl has to haul my fat ass around anyway, so whats another kilo or 2.  [cheeky]

Now I'm working for the local Ducati dealer, my S2R 800 is going to be a bit of a show pony anyway, with a whole showroom of demo stock I don't think my S2R is going to be getting a lot of use  ;D , so it's more for the look anyway, I have always loved the 3 spoke wheels.

They are a direct swap.  Front and rear.  [thumbsup]
