I'm just looking at quick outings..mostly bouldering. There is a climbing gym in Austin - they will know where to go. There used to be a guy named Cody managing the place - if he is still there, talk to him - really good guy and knows where to go for climbing. I went to REI today and bought the minimal equipment, i.e.: shoes, harness and chalkbag. Also met a woman that worked there who knew the climbing spots. I was surprised to hear that there were some good places out here by Lakeway?! [thumbsup] Might try one of the spots tomorrow. I actually lived with three other climbers all who have/had monsters. There is a lot of climbing in and around austin. There is a group that meets at the Greenbelt on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. There is also the North and South Austin rock gym. I would go to REI and get the Austin Rock or Bouldering guides to start. If you want to go bouldering just shoot me a PM and lets go! i just made this video of some local bouldering check it out! Tues/thurs climbing..Wed bike meet up..ride on the weekends!! Life is good!! I met a girl who climbs from the REI store up in Round Rock (an employee actually). She told me about a few local areas that I have yet to check out. I did find an area over off of 360/2222 at the off leash dog park. A couple guys were bouldering there 2 weeks ago.
