I want to get back into climbing. Any other around here?
I'm just looking at quick outings..mostly bouldering. I found a few areas at:

I hear Enchanted Rock offers some good climbing. Couple hours away though.
I've heard of folks climbing the cliffs above the Pedernalis where it meets the Colorado. I think you can get to this area within pace bend park.
There is a climbing gym in Austin - they will know where to go. There used to be a guy named Cody managing the place - if he is still there, talk to him - really good guy and knows where to go for climbing.

I went to REI today and bought the minimal equipment, i.e.: shoes, harness and chalkbag.
Also met a woman that worked there who knew the climbing spots. I was surprised to hear that there were some good places out here by Lakeway?! [thumbsup]
Might try one of the spots tomorrow.
Hey I am a climber in austin.
I actually lived with three other climbers all who have/had monsters. There is a lot of climbing in and around austin. There is a group that meets at the Greenbelt on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. There is also the North and South Austin rock gym.
I would go to REI and get the Austin Rock or Bouldering guides to start. If you want to go bouldering just shoot me a PM and lets go!

Nice!! Do you meet at Mings on Wed? Tues/thurs climbing..Wed bike meet up..ride on the weekends!! Life is good!!
I met a girl who climbs from the REI store up in Round Rock (an employee actually). She told me about a few local areas that I have yet to check out. I did find an area over off of 360/2222 at the off leash dog park. A couple guys were bouldering there 2 weeks ago. I don't know the name of the park??
