So the Stormtrooper kite stayed tucked away in storage another year.
Bummer.
;D
Cool, makes me want to go buy a kite.
That first pic looks like it could be an advertisement for the truck.

Yeah, thanks for reminding me RM!
I ordered a SW kite back in the 70's from either a cereal box or the UPC symbols.
The first & last time I took the kite out..it took a nose dive into the neighbors tree.
Of course, it was too high to get out. [roll]

LOL..actually..you could be right!
Late 70's..I do remember a lot of Zig Zag wrappers, roach clips and funny smelling brownies around the house.
that's funny.. i told my gf to do that this weekend! so i says (i know, it's not bad grammar, it's colloquial), so i says to her, honey, go fly a kite!

Into the Wind used to stock a 9-ft delta stunter and an even bigger parafoil-type kite. They also sold augers & harnesses to keep you on the ground!
JM

back in the day.... it was my "I hate my ex wife beer drink'n" spot [laugh]
when my kids were younger, I'd take them up there to fly kites.
LOL..just went through Zilker Park and saw all the kites in the trees after the kite festival yesterday.
I just remember the ones that had 2 thin pieces of wood stapled together. The ends of the wood strips went to the 4 corners of the kite that had like an Airplane graphic on the front .
Then we'd make a Tail out of strips of an old sheet , tie on some string in the middle and if the Wind was blowing 15mph or no more than 20 mph we could get the kite up 100 feet or more. Lots of good fun ! Dolph :)
