Addendum to my previous post: AFAIK, the valving is a bit different as well, seems a bit better than on the non-S4*. My brakes should work just fine with these, right? I purchased the Showas last night on sleazebay so they better. While limited to test rides, my impressions from Showa forks (S2R1k, 848 and HyperMotard) are very good. They are MUCH better than the crappy, crappy, crappy stock Marzocchi on my S2R800. [moto] Cartridges for the non adjustable Marzocchis are off the table. I am going to take my time with these since I have the bike still intact with the old forks. I would like to have them resprung and whatever else needs to be done to accomodate my 170lb without gear. I am sure I will be doing lots of research to see what the best bang for the buck options are. I am in no hurry and I want to do it right. I found that their OTD price with shipping was comparable and cheaper than all other options, such as Race Tech and Ohlins. Their process is top notch as well! Good luck.
