Title: Immobilizer problem
Post by: needtorque on March 04, 2009, 01:15:47 PM
OK, so I bought the bike (04' s4r) 2 weeks ago.  Have the black keys and the red key.  I have started and run it several times.  Today I go out to start the bike and since it is cold it takes a few tries.  It was sweeping gauges and everything fine.  Well after several tries to start it finally comes to life but the gauges drop and the tach is not working and the immoblizer light is blinking while running.  So I turn the bike off and leave it for a few minutes then try to crank it.  The fuel pump primes but the gauges dont sweep and the bike will not turn over.

I do not know what to do.  I dont have the owners manual as it did not come with the bike and I dont know how to reset the immobilizer.  I also do not have a key card and do not know if the 04' models even came with one.  I have unplugged the battery to try that but other than that I do not know much about resetting the immobilizer system.  I am about to call the dealer and ask them if there is anything they knwo to do but I doubt it.

How make the beast with two backsed am I?

Edit: just went out and reconnected the battery light was still blinking and gauges will not sweep and now the fuel pump will not even prime

Nevermind I got it figured out.  Had 2 blown fuses due to a taillight contact touching ground on the tailchop kit.
