Title: New bike time
Post by: mattyvas on March 04, 2009, 06:23:07 PM
After 2 years of getting to know my 620 and enjoying every moment the time has finally come.

Yes she is really For Sale.

I'm selling it in two forms.

Firstly as you see it with everything on it bar my sargent seat. $12,350 ready to go
Secondly I'll stripe it back to stock and let it go for $10,200.

And the answer to oft asked question is ?

Although hanging on to the Sargeant would indicate no 848 or M1100, so I'm guessing

Nothing can be said because I haven't started looking for a bike yet.
I am keeping my Sargent just to keep my options open.
848 might well be in my future (did you see the snap of me on it at PI)
Can't bring myself to pay $24k for an M1100s plus bling.....  [roll]

So there's a few options 848/S2-4R/ or maybe even a Multi  ???
Just been touring you know......

Yes I saw the photos of you on the 848 ... again ... but the seat was throwing me.

The mutlistroodle is a worry thought though, just remember the tour's over now. I also notice all the 'stroodle photos have Goldie standing alongside ... with Vince's unhealthy obsession, the Ozmo portal could be shortlived.

... so we are back to the fridge ... you know it makes sense (sort of).

Never fear Betty, the portal is safe.

Dock does have a very unhealthy obsession with the MS. He even refused to overtake one on the way down "out of respect". And then there was the time at the track we saw a MS and a D16 parked side by side. Of course we took a photo, and when we showed Dock......... well, lets just say that the rest of that story is best left on the Island  :-X

Suck it up and come with!  ;D
I bought a bike 2 yrs ago.
This thread was about me selling a bike first I do believe.
I don't know if I mentioned at all what I am going to buy. Yes there might be an Rs on the market, but then after sitting on 848 again.
There is a test ride to be had down sth so I can really ride the thing, not just see 1st/2nd gear in traffic.

you'd be surprised! I rode it for a bit and found it quite comfy, except that matty has a womens foot and I could not fit my man boots in between the left peg and the gear lever...  ;D

The pegs and shift lever are adjustable Spider.
But I'm not sure if you can handle a 620, having been off the bike for a while!

Matty,

I got to test ride the 848 on the track.....a lot of fun.

I could never understand how people could have a Ducati superbike as their one and only bike but after a week and around 1,000 klms on the 999S, I could easily get used to it. Did about 300klms today and feel fine.

I think the 848 is a great option for you.

Wow  :o how did you get to test ride on the track?
Would love to have that chance, cause test riding round Concord ain't much fun.
848 is very attractive, but I'm thinking it might be a 2nd trackie next year sometime.
Especially that they are 20k and under now, another 12 mths and I might even find one at $16-17k....

The guys from Penrith Ducati had one. It was the stage where I was seriously considering one and they let people who were on the market test it. If you want to test ride one properly, go to Penrith and they will look after you.

Spider, apart from the more extreme riding position it is easier to ride than my 916 Monster. In traffic the Monster overheats and splatters and stalls constantly. There fans come on far too late. I need to install a manual switch.

The 999S is fine but I wouldn't recommend it for commuting.

yeah I've seen them at the track a few times and spoken to the dealer principal at The Monster Party.
He did seem really cool and invited me out to ride anything they have on the floor.

So after that threadjack, back to Dock's original threadjack of mattys new bike thread, which may not technically be a threadjack, as it's still regarding "new bike time".

So as you all have witnessed, I have been reminded of the "virtues" of omerta, but lets just say that you may all be surprised at Dock's forward thinking.

That is all I dare say on the subject......
