Title: WTB small disk style mirrors, Tacoma Post by: julian on March 04, 2009, 09:24:32 PM Hello,
I'm looking for some disk mirrors. CRG lane splitter style, but cheap. I am a student, strapped for cash, so its hard to justify the cosmetic parts. But I really want them... Maybe the Motrax mirrors? I would be open to others. Not looking to spend much over 40. I'm in Tacoma, WA and would travel to pick up, but would also be willing to pay for some shipping as well. Bike is 2001 M750 with stock bars Title: Re: WTB small disk style mirrors, Tacoma Post by: scott_araujo on March 04, 2009, 10:06:27 PM http://www.3rd-eye.com/(09).htm (http://www.3rd-eye.com/(09).htm)

Scott Hey, not a bad idea, and thanks for the tip. However, I found a pair of motrax mirrors for $30 a pair at http://www.d2moto.com/Items/m040-black?&caSKU=m040-black&caTitle=Universal%20Honda%20/%20Kawasaki%20/%20Suzuki%20/%20Yamaha%20Black%20Billet%20Bar%20End%20Mirrors%20(Street) (http://www.d2moto.com/Items/m040-black?&caSKU=m040-black&caTitle=Universal%20Honda%20/%20Kawasaki%20/%20Suzuki%20/%20Yamaha%20Black%20Billet%20Bar%20End%20Mirrors%20(Street)) Title: Re: WTB small disk style mirrors, Tacoma Post by: scott_araujo on March 09, 2009, 11:58:37 AM Use Loctite on all the fasteners when you install, including the screw that holds the mirror on the frame. I've seen several posts on people losing the glass or the whole unit due to the fasteners coming loose.
The Motrax are ok, quality isn't quite as good as the name brand ones but it's OK. On the other hand, when you crack, break, whatever the Third-Eye it's easy to find and replace. Doesn't sit quite as high as the others but I'm ok with that. Have fun :) Scott Title: Re: WTB small disk style mirrors, Tacoma Post by: Jetbrett on April 07, 2009, 04:45:26 PM For a cheap set of Third Eye mirrors, check out any REI in the bicycle section. I spent less than $30 for a set. I wasn't sure that I was going to like bar end mirrors and didn't want to spend a lot. I hadn't planned on keeping them, but after a year they are holding up great and I much prefer them and the look of the bike.

I like them alot, they work pretty well, and they look great. Only problem, is that the mirrors are not smoothly convex, but are turned out on the outsides with an angular bend in the glass. A little strange and distorting, so could be better. They were also about $35 from d2moto online. |
