stopped in one around the corner from the house and bought a 65" Hitachi HDTV for 300 bucks. I finally get to build a home theater.
I am so happy.
Congrats on the deal. Every now and again you get lucky at the junk sales.
nice!! [clap]
yea I have passed over a ton of junk for the few finds i have gotten, just none this big before. Still looking for the garage full of old motorcycles that they are just looking to get out of the way.
nice find. i always like to look for high end 70' and 80's road bikes, even if just to resell them on ebay of CL

When I was about 14 (circa 1985), I stopped at one with my parents. The guy had 5 1969 MZ motorcycles - 3 150's and 2 250's in his garage. None of them had more that a couple hundred miles on them. He said he bought them from a bankruptcy sale in CA when a dealership went tits up. He sold me a 150 for $200. I rode the sh*t out of that thing. It looked legit, even thought it never had a tag and I never got stopped (underage, no license, no tag). Best yard sale deal ever. Wish I still had that bike......I looked like this, but red

any good finds? my faves are the two frames i have found in all my looking, a '70s Alan Al. which i rode for a year as a fixed gear until i discovered a vertical crack coming from the bottom headset cup (then found 4 more smaller cracks after a thorough inspection). apparently old aluminum bikes weren't built for fat guys. and an '95 pinarello stelvio ($50!!) which i have built up with campy chorus 8sp for the wife. then a few beaters which i have rehabbed for friends or CL
these are not them but they looked like:

What I've found locally has been rusted to the point of uselessness.

Yeah, that's why I stay away from yard sales. I end up buying things to do *sigh* sometime, but seems like sometime never comes, and I'm stuck walking around the stuff. Can't throw it away now - I paid good money for it!!! (Damn! can hear my Dad in my head).
