The old bike that I had an accident on. It's a long story but this MC was cursed.

Nope...a tough sell to the wife. It really was a cursed machine and I feel for anyone that buys the wreck. I had it six months and it was delivered with a badly scratched rim, the tricolore number plate was scratched to hell, I bent the front rim almost immediatley, I stripped the oil drain plug, I stipped the oil feed filter (?) pick up screws, ran over a 4 inch deck screw that exited the sidewall of the rear tire and gouged the swingarm, busted a helmet (it fell out of the seat of the bike) and destroyed my motorcycle boots after stepping on a bee earlier that day after washing the monster. Then I wrecked it and did 10,000 worth of damage. Walked away with minimal injuries though.
Don't get me wrong I loved the bike but it had a black cloud and I said F it. I got the 1098 for less than the price of a new Monster with a full system. The bike was a demo that I helped mile out. It has the custom paint because the first guy to demo it lowsided it and tore it up. In addition to the paint it has the cover/plate/stainless springs, slip on-ecu combo and the first service done.

That must've been one hell of a bee.
That's a sexy 1098. Congrats. [thumbsup]

;D
I was barefoot. Later that day when gearing up for a ride my leg was so swollen I could barely zip the boot up my calf. About 5 minutes later the zipper popped breaking several teeth. They were old anyway. About 4 hours later I was in the ER getting shots. My foot wouldn't even fit into a flip flop and my leg was swollen past my knee. I think it was a killer bee.

It sounds like you may be cursed and in need of an exorcism, and nice bike for sure.
Nice! Congrats [wine]
Sexy wheels!!! [thumbsup]
Have fun. [moto]
Gratz on the new bike. I am envious.
Hate to say it dude but none of that stuff sounds like the problem was the bike...
Hope you have better luck with the 1098! [beer]
it sounds like someone didn't want you on that tri-color... hopefully, the 1098 will bring you blue skies!
I think I remember from last year, you rode over some train tracks and bent the front rim?
What bike? All I see is an aerator weighted down with Pavestones. Do they make a tri colore aerator?? [laugh]
Ok... nice bike for sure! [thumbsup]

That would be correct. A nasty chuckhole on the far side of a rail. I know it wasn't really "The Bike's Fault".

did insurance cover it? The railway who owns those tracks should be responsible for things like that.
Congrats on the new Duc. We'll tolerate your presence ;D
Congrats on the new wheels! ;D [thumbsup]

Actually the railroad did come through with the full amount for the repairs. Collected that check about 2 weeks after I wrecked the bike.I was pretty depressed so the check actually helped out a little. The total for the repair was about 660 which was for straightening to race specs and repaint as the straightening destroyed the finish plus labor.

wow...sweet!
Honestly I am starting to feel the same way about my relationship with Ducati. I have been riding for 10 years and had about 7 bikes. The s2r I bought last year was crashed 22 days later in a completely stupid incident. I just bought a 99 Monster last week and didn't even ride it before fixing the sticking throttle. Rode it 6 miles home, tried to start it later, and the starter solenoid (probably) went belly up. The bike is dead and there is a scratch in the left fork from a lung forward during starting. Me and Ducati seems to be doomed like the Bachelor and the first chick he dug out.

I would not kick her out of my garage for eating crackers. Congrats, and wishing you much better mojo on your new ride [thumbsup]
