Anyone else watch that show?
In a recent episode, they have Jason stunting on a Hypermotard. The first thing he says is, "My experience with Ducati says if there aren't a few modifications done to the bike, you might not make it very far on one wheel."
Then, sure enough, smoke started coming out of the bike, and oil was leaking everywhere. :-[
Not exactly good PR for our brand, but I guess Ducatis were never really intended to be stunt bikes.
Who cares what Jason Britton says and anything on Stupidbikes for that matter.
When was the last time that retard was on a track? How many world championships has he won? How many has Ducati won? I rest my case.
Eh, it's not uncommon knowledge that if you wheely many ducs for a too long (don't know how long *too* is) that they stuffer from oil starvation. The oil pump is up toward the front of the engine - wheely and the oil goes to the back
And anyways who cares of Ducs are suitable for stunting? That's not what they are make for... it's like saying a screw driver doesn't make a good hammer.. Well duh.
That show's pretty dumb and I don't even know why they call it Suberbikes. When I 1st heard the title I thought it was going to be about racing... and found disappointment when it's 99% stunting.

Don't forget that the Hypermotard was promoted as a perfect Hooligan bike... the promo videos from Ducati had a stunter (Chris "Teach" McNeil) riding the bike.

and....if memory serves me correct..... Jason was ride'n a HM for a photo/video shoot and they were try'n to shoot him ride'n a wheelie across a mile long bridge. The comment was not a slam at , just a statement of fact. geeee....my duck wont go past a the mile mark on one wheel.
He's ridden ducs in other shows, and had nothing but nice things to say.

Yes there is another show on the tube,
"Motorcycle experience" I get it here in Canada on TSN2.
I think in a show made here, showing lots a BMW bike so far, they have a turn through The Cali Mtn region out of LA.
Looks like real nice riding area.
I have also seen another one with a couple writers that ride around on new bikes in neat areas, I have seen one in Quebec, and another in Scotland on Triumph Bikes.
I do like Superbikes, when there is snow here, got to get some bike somehow.

Still can't believe that Speed dropped Two Wheel Tuesday for that piece of s#@t!! >:( Have never watched one single show for more than 5 minutes before I turn it off in disgust. I just cant get into the whole stunter crowd vibe... which is who the show caters to.... And unfortunately SPEEDTV pretty much held onto that show only .. Not much other programming catering to motorcyclists [bang]

Even when I try to watch the show it's annoying because there is very little show in between all the damn commercials.

I gotta say the show's concept is completely retarded, in my opinion. I understand there's a "stunna" subculture, but please. it's just stupid. on a side, I met Britten at the ama supermoto in denver one year. Really really nice guy.
the custom 999 was what I was thinking. I don't like the show much - it's pretty hard into promoting Kawasaki at every turn. The worst thing I've ever seen on a sportbike was from that show. They had a 'busa w/ an LCD screen on the gas tank. crazy.

It's true though - there are issues with 'oil management' on these things!

The show is "entertaining" to me. I enjoy watching other people crash and destroy their bikes. I saw the episode with the HM and basically Jason was right on with the oil problem before he even got on the bike.

I'm pretty sure in the Deal's Gap episode jason talks about riding a ducati. The last charity ride I saw him at he was on a ZX14, but I know he has Ducs also.
Saying a bike shouldn't wheelie for long due to it's design isn't a slam, just a fact.
He came out to the end-of-summer Italian Bike Night for OCDC and he was very cool and gracious.

Chris does some crazy stuff on his Duc and the engine doesn't seem to be hurtin at all. if memory serves his duc is stock on top of it.
as far as Jason - he seems down to earth and seems to be a good street rider but anyone else notice his position on the bike in those pics? Looks like his head and body are in the middle of the bike and he's pushing it down. I'm not a WERA Champion nor claim to be or anything but it struck me none the less.

oh in the other photos from the Kawi ZX-6R test rides his body position is horrible, I laughed that Kawasaki would even publish them. BUT at least he was at the track. Road racer he is not. Neither am I, nor can I do what he does with his stunt bikes. (Though I will be the first to admit that I am a Christian Pfeiffer fan, yes because he used to ride for Ducati, but also because few are as smooth as he).
When I met Jason at a NY show a couple of years ago, I commented to him how I loved it when he road down the dragon (on the hill that passes the gas station/resort) on the 999 doing an endo. He laughed and said, "yeah, the people from Ducati didn't, they were having a heart attack".
I saw the episode, and has been pointed out already, I didn't take that comment as a knock on Ducati (didn't even give it a second thought)
Instead I think it's a testament to Jasons in depth knowledge of bikes in general, to be able to nail a potential quirk on a bike even before attempting the stunt.
I'm not a big stunt person, and I too watch the show because it's about the only thing MC related on TV
I see Jason as a true bike enthusiast who loves and respects all brands who would never knock ANY bike on his show
I met Jason at an industry event a year ago. Whether you like his show or not, in person he's alright. [thumbsup]
Ironically, I caught the Superbikes episode where they shot those track pics of him on the Kawasaki ZX-6R. He was at a press event which was being held at Kawasaki's testing circuit in Japan. It was quite interesting.

How is that a knock? He's just speaking to his experience. And he's right. A lot of older Ducati engines like the Desmoquattro will be starved of oil during wheelies due to the location of the oil pump. Long wheelies = very bad things on those bikes. Shouldn't be much of an issue with the newer 2Vs like in the Hyper (to my knowledge). Besides, since when have modifications to a Ducati been a bad thing?
Jason Britton seems like a cool guy. A good, level headed spokesman for a sport (stunting) that isn't really known for that kind of thing. The show has long since lost my interest though. Its focus is far too narrow.
