Title: Mini rear brake reservoir Post by: DucHead on March 10, 2009, 09:31:22 AM I fabbed a rear brake reservoir from some 1/2" aluminum tubing, extra Rizoma outlets, some o-rings, an M8 aluminum bolt, an adel clamp and some zip ties:

Some Tygon, zip ties, o-rings, adel clamp and viola! (http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d147/pompino/DSCN2293.jpg) I let it sit overnight and there were no leaks. If you're careful, you can do the swap without bleeding: (http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d147/pompino/DSCN2294.jpg) Installed: (http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d147/pompino/DSCN2295.jpg) Brakes work fine. The volume of the tubing allows for sufficient amount of fluid, and I left the "reservoir" 2/3 empty to allow for fluid expansion. This should be fine as I only use the rear brake for low-speed maneuvers, finishing stops and while sitting at traffic signals. how much$? ;D Title: Re: Mini rear brake reservoir Post by: DucHead on March 10, 2009, 11:36:13 AM nicely done! looks very cool! how much$? ;D $0. I had all this lying around the garage. I suppose if you bought everything from Home depot it would run you $10-20, the aluminum tubing being by far the most expensive item. |
