Title: ADV Rider
Post by: Monsterlover on March 11, 2009, 04:04:33 PM
I was going to go poke around on the forum, and since I don't have a direct link bookmarked on this computer, I just typed in http://advrider.com/ (http://advrider.com/) and figured I'd start from there.

They have a great slide show with some amazing pictures.  I was frozen in my tracks.

It's worth a look.

I have it bookmarked past the slideshow, so I don't watch it that often.

Just went there and "Slideshow is Password Protected"   ---  WTF?!!!

that site seems to have a wealth of info applicable to almost any form of motorsport.   From what i have seen... they seem to be one of the largest motorcycle forums as well.  And since they are mostly older folks (no offense) there seems to be way less squids over there.

And yes, i drool looking at those BMW GS1200s... one time there were two outside of an REI.  They look like they would fit in perfectly during a post apocalyptic event.   I will have one one day.

i have always really liked the dakars..........but the gs1200 is a pretty cool machine as well.

on a small tangent, just finished watching "long Way Down". not as good as "Long Way Round" IMO, but still fun....

Love ADV!!!  If I didn't have to sell my soul to afford a GS, there'd already be one in my garage.  I drool over the ride reports there, truly amazing trips!

Love ADV, hadn't been on in awhile, was just transfixed for what seemed at least 1/2 hour...  could not stop watching that slide show.

Thanks!  [thumbsup]

As a self-appointed ADV-DMF ambassador, (being one of the few (only?) ducati-off-road riding ADVriders crossovers who frequents both boards), I just wanted to say thanks for recognizing the ADVrider forum for how awesome it is (as is this one).  It is a great community with an abundance of generosity, humor, and camraderie, with people who are linked together simply by a passion for motorcycles (not just BMW's), a spirit of adventure and most importantly, a love of bacon.  [bacon]
