Title: AG Hammer & Agras Racing Rearset Pic Request
Post by: junior varsity on March 12, 2009, 08:37:22 PM
I'd like to see pictures of these two rearsets installed. CA Cycleworks offers the AG Hammer Rearsets, and Yoyodyne offers the Agras set.

Here's a picture of the Agras set uninstalled:

Here's a picture of the AG Hammer set uninstalled:

They are tentatively for my bike: A 1999 Monster 900 with aluminum DSS and low mount pipes.

Pics of ANY rearset on a DSSA Monster with low mount pipes would be great.
I'm looking for some too.

For your 2000, you can get Rizoma's, which can hang low pipes; and you have the option of the "Ducati Performance" (Style & Performance) Rearsets that Motowheels has in their catalog (I could use these too, but found the Agras and AG Hammer to be interesting).

Where for art thou CycleCat when i need you?

Absolutely, I was. Still have their top triple, clipons, and sprocket cover on the bike, and their front and rear stands. I had money in hand to buy rearsets but was put on indefinite hold.

I plan on switching over to another company's clipons sooner or later though, because there are no replacement parts available for my clipons now, and because of CycleCat's rotational 'eccentric' like device on the bar, I am near positive any ol' bar won't do, - so if I bend one some how, I'm SOL.

We have a poster up in the shop of the AG Hammer rearsets so i took pictures of it. The quality isn't great, but at least it will give you an idea:

Here are some pics of the AG Hammer Rearsets on my M800.  They were purchased from CA-Cycleworks.

Awesome, and thanks for the pics!

I need you to do me a quick favor. Just look and see if the shifter is removable. Can I take the entire shift-lever and linkage off?   (I currently use a reverse shifter, love it, and would really not like to switch back)

You needed a new brake line for the rear brake, yes?

And last question: Did they come with the hangers for low-mount exhaust?

Let's see here.

Yes, you can take the entire shifter and shift linkage off.

I did not need a new brake line.  In the picture the rear brake reservoir is mounted in its original position.  I later realized that it is supposed to mount to the highest hole on the rearset itself, so I moved it over.  The brake line is now a little bit long-ish and could be cut to size, but I didn't want to mess with the hydralic fluid and bleeding, etc.

I am not sure about the hanger for the low-mount exhaust.  I'll check when I get home and send update.

This was an interesting project since the instructions that came with the rearsets were written in Japanese and I had to go by the 4 picutres included.  I think I've finally figured it all out though, with the exception of mounting the passenger pegs, which I haven't tried yet.  Let me know if you have any more questions.

forgive my ignorance..
Do they change your foot position at all?  It looks like the foot peg is in the same spot.  Are the brake/shifter at a different angle?

thanks

There are no exhaust hangers included in the kit.  :(

The footpeg position is not very different from stock.  It does seem a tiny bit higher, but is not adjustable.  The lever positions are adjustable.

The hangers aren't part of the passenger pegs?

No, the passenger rearset attachments do not include footpegs or hangers.  The footpegs and hangers would need to be moved over from the existing configuration.

??? My exhaust mounts directly to my existing rearsets. There's no hanger.

Perhaps you are misunderstanding me. Do the brackets to which the passenger pegs would affix, the ones that mount to the rider's portion of the rearsets, have the big hole in them to attach standard low mount exhausts?

Not high mount hangers. Just curious if what I have posted for a sample picture, with the passenger brackets pictured, is what comes in the kit.

Yes, the passenger brackets which attach to the rider's rearset come in the kit and there's a big hole in them to which you can attach your low-mount exhaust hanger.  Are we now speaking the same language?

Ah, fantastic. I just wanted to make sure. I'm envious of your high pipes, but don't see myself switching anytime soon. Need to make sure there are accommodations for my low pipes for the time being.
