Title: Online Motorcycle Safety Articles
Post by: ScottRNelson on March 13, 2009, 03:34:26 AM
I've enjoyed reading Proficient Motorcycling and More Proficient Motorcycling by David L. Hough.  I consider those two books the most valuable books on safe riding of any that I own or that I know of.

Did you know that there are quite a few articles written by David L. Hough available online at the http://www.soundrider.com (http://www.soundrider.com) web site?  That's the web site for the Pacific Northwest (i.e., Seattle Washington area).

Here are links to all of the articles that I was able to track down on that site.  They're all worth reading.

I like this guy a lot. I read both books before I got my licence. It made the written parts of my test and MSF class a breeze. One of the things I like best is he gives you the accident stats. No bs. This is what you're getting into, no illusions and this is what you need to do to be as safe as possible. A must read for just about everyone.
In fact I've loaned my copies to 2 other people so far (my sister has them now).

And now I'll read his articles. Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for doing that.  After tracking them all down I didn't have the time to get the titles updated too.

I haven't even read half of these articles, at least recently, but I know that they're all good.  Now that I'm rereading Proficient Motorcycling I'm reminded once again about how valuable the writings of David L. Hough are.  All riders will be better riders after reading what he has written.

Hough, is a very good writer and knows what he's talking about. A lot to learn from this guy.
