I need a good shop who can turn SLOTTED rotors.
Yeah, I know the issues with turning rotors. I've called 2 shops and they both say "you can't turn slotted rotors" but the manufacturer said (and I quote) "find a shop with an iq over 100 and they can do it"
they are Powerslot rotors, nothing fancy.
the problem with turning slotted rotors is the small triangular cutting bits on those machines cut best on a constant contact and the slots interrrupt that process and in fact could upset the micrometer setting when doing so...I used to turn rotors and drums in a shop I worked at a long ass time ago....and the newer "on the car" cutting machines are even more sensitive because grooves and divots in the rotor can move the machine and upset the whole process.
right, which is why i need a shop guy with an iq higher than body temp.
well...maybe Tim can ping his son to see if he's game for it as he IS smarter than he looks...he works at a Ford dealer in NOVA and might able to help a brova out!
