Title: Blemish in paint
Post by: JDS 07 S4Rs on May 14, 2008, 09:04:21 PM
I have a blemish on the hood of my car from where a bird had shit on it. It wont blend in with wax. Is there some sort of product that will diminish that spot?

Thanx in advance :)

It's from the acid.

You could try some rubbing compound that's clearcoat safe,

or claybar.

THanx.

I will look for a compound that is "CLEARCOAT SAFE" I have used a rubbing compound B4,, &,,,it was noticeable where I used the compound. Perhaps I over did it,,, or,, the Compound may not have been Clearcoat Safe. It seemed abrasive.

Dam birds  :)

I was going to suggest a clay bar as well.

3M Imperial Hand Glaze with a microfiber towel is awesome stuff if you're buffing it by hand.

If all else fails - PM ducpainter. He can usually offer up some relatively intelligent advice  [laugh]

Thanx,,,,Clay bar is the stuff [thumbsup] [thumbsup] Bought a "Mother's" combination pack with cleaner & Midro fiber towel. Expensive,, but worth it.

I had never heard of the Clay bar B4,,,Most Hardware stores around here only sell the Rubbing Compound,,, I wont be using that again.  :)
