Title: The Art Of BMW Post by: Howie on March 14, 2009, 05:14:27 PM Thumbing through the April Motorcycle Consumer News I get to page 24 and what do I see? A glowing article about our very own Peter Gantriis' (Bluemoco) book, "The Art Of BMW: 85 Years Of Motorcycling Excellence" I am the proud owner of an autographed copy. For those who don't get MCN, the book can be purchased at http://www.motorbooks.com (http://www.motorbooks.com)
Title: Re: The Art Of BMW Post by: Special K on March 14, 2009, 07:12:35 PM I have this book. Great photography, beautiful bikes, a little history and the perfect conversation starter on the coffee table. I know I'm going to get along with any new guests who are drawn to it. I was surprised to see the "boxer" engine with the drive shaft goes back to the beginning. Talk about sticking with something that works!
I'd like to see a similar treatment of other makes. There's countless Harley books but not so much on say Moto Guzzi, Honda or....oh yeah; Ducati! Title: Re: The Art Of BMW Post by: fasterblkduc on March 15, 2009, 03:47:09 PM Pete is a very cool guy. i know him and I still don't have my autographed copy yet [bang]
But seriously, Pete is a very nice guy and everyone should buy his book [beer] Title: Re: The Art Of BMW Post by: bluemoco on March 23, 2009, 08:17:30 AM Hey, thanks for the kind words, everybody! :) [thumbsup]
The book's been a big success. The reviews from book buyers, BMW owners' groups, and the motorcycling press have been very flattering. We've sold over 5000 copies since it was released in mid-September. That may not sound like a lot, but it ranks very high for a book of this type. Let me know if you want a signed copy! Send me a PM and we'll make arrangements. :) Title: Re: The Art Of BMW Post by: LA on March 23, 2009, 10:15:07 AM $40 bucks. I'll have to save a few extra, but I will have a copy. [thumbsup]

The book doesn't cover that topic. I'm not sure I could explain it anyway... [laugh] |
