My niece is turning 3 in a month and I have no clue what to get a 3yo. Any suggestions? I can't think of anything besides candy. I guess there's dolls too but I don't really wanna get her a doll. I felt like an idiot walking around the Barbie aisle of Target and Toys R Us in full gear looking for a 50th anniversary Barbie for my sister. I'd rather not do it again. [roll]
she wont rememebr any of it. best get her something that she is super happy with right now, and will throw away later.
my cousin loved this label maker, she labeled everything. cute girly label makers. not too expensive. thats if she is normal.
Weird. My 3yo daughter wanted a label marker too.
Huh what? A label maker? ???
This is all I can think of when I think of a label maker...

How much do you like the parents? I'm a big fan of noisy toys (drums, trumpets, etc) or high battery consumption toys (remote control toys without recharable batteries)...

or.. on the noisy but nice side a recorder!
no, I just can't stand those things!
speaking as the dad of a soon to be 3 year old girl- anything Dora. My kid is obsessed with Dora, Diego, Wonder Pets, Sponge Bob. If you are looking for some fun for yourself, try dropping some acid and watching Yo Gabba Gabba.
+1 one on the recorder if you want to annoy the parents. I speak from experience.
Cant go wrong with Play Doh, sing along books (you push buttons and it plays songs) or coloring books. THats what my kid is doing now. She plays her electric keyboard alot too.
And if none of those work- my kid loves [bacon] [bacon] [bacon] thats the gift that keeps on giving.

I had the same dilema a few years ago with my niece. I ended up starting a college fund for her. Works great, every bday or christmas I just write a check to the college fund. Do a search for 529 plans or education savings programs. I live in Michigan and I used the state run saving program, you can start one with as little as $25. I think most mutual fund companies have 529 plans.

I wouldn't mind that but I'm not terribly close to her. She's cute and fun to be around once she warms up to you but her parent's (my cousin) is kinda reclusive and doesn't like to have company over often.

A big cardboard box and a set of crayons, the box will be their own house and the crayons to color it in [thumbsup]
Kept my son busy for a week ;)
My neices love playmobil stuff...they are 3 and 6. It's like leggo's but with round edges and comes in all different themes, firetrucks, castles, pirate ships..etc.

+1000
my nieces are so spoiled by our whole family and get big gifts in big boxes and they always play with the boxes more than the gift itself! they tend to go through a lot of markers.
When I replaced the bathtub in my house in AZ, I took the box it came in and cut a door and a window in it. Haley (then a little over 2) LOVED it...
