It's the Power Reserve
Very nice [thumbsup]
Both are sweet watches (and I'm guessing they cost a pretty penny).
Congrats! You have good taste.

I realize it's the power reserve. All Panerai have model #'s. I wondered if you knew which model # yours is?
Mine is a 112. Luminor Base. H series XXX/1200

Looks to be the 44mm luminor Power Reserve PAM 90
I've seen them with gator but like it with the steel strap.
Not to sound too silly, what is so great about the Panerai? I agree, it's a good looking watch, but is it worth thousands of dollars more than my lowly Seiko?
They both show what time of day it is, and the date.
So, edumacate me. ???

This is simple. Do you really need a Ducati? Or can a Vespa do the same thing? Two wheels, and can get you there.

Yes.

Yes, but it would take twice as long but they are still pretty cool. [thumbsup]
I get your point. ;)

Italian roots...and if you got sucked to the bottom of the ocean and the pressure killed you...your watch would still run...its a rolex without being asked ten time per day ..is that real? I like to think that one wears the panny because he/she really appreciates the craftsmanship over the brand cache...

Yeah. I had a look at the website and it looks like they are all handmade and unique.
This is probably one watch that I would be too scared to wear in case I scratched the f*cker. :-\

90 did not come standard with bracelet, that may be what threw me.

What would be the point in owning one if you didn't wear it? It's like buying a classic car and keeping it in the garage...

I'm not saying I wouldn't wear it, just scared of damaging it.
It's a moot point anyway because there is no way I could afford one. :-\

Thats the cool thing the crystal wont scratch, but the metal and everything else will.
And they don't keep that good time, i guess +-6 seconds a day is considered good for most fancy watches.

I should get some macro shots of mine. Lots of character scratches and dings( you can almost see the one on the crown guard in this pic.).
I wear it almost all the time, except when riding (don't need the extra weight).
They are made to be worn IMHO. i have owned many high end watches from IWC, Ulysse Nardin, Chronoswiss, Panerai, Breitling, Glashutte. I have sold almost all of them because
I did not feel comfortable wearing them all the time. I don't feel that way about the Panerai.
