I have a 2000 Monster 750.
What is the fuel line diameters for my bike?
I think there is two different sizes.
Could I use any size fuel line? 1/4 3/16?
Should be 5/16" I.D.
Okay, thanks.
Does anyone have suggestions for replacing the fuel system on a carb'd bike. I wouldn't mind going with an in-line clear fuel filter.

I went with a small inline fuel filter (this one: http://www.dougherbert.com/billetaluminumfuelfilter38-p-25576.html (http://www.dougherbert.com/billetaluminumfuelfilter38-p-25576.html)). It isn't clear but that wasn't a concern for me. I used the Motion Pro fuel line and quick dissconnects.
I also got rid of the vacuum fuel pump and petcock and installed a cheapo Mr. Gasket low pressure electric fuel pump. I would recommend going with a better quality fuel pump if you have the money to spend on one, but I haven't had a problem out of mine and I have put a fair amount of miles on the bike with that setup.
Also, I highly recommend the quick disconnects (bidirectional is best). I can have the tank off my bike in about a minute or two and the carbs (I have pods so no airbox to deal with) in about 5 minutes (damn throttle cables take forever) without making a gasoline mess or draining the tank.
hmm...I never knew you could put a electric fuel pump on a bike. Does this require any calibrating?
where did you mount it?

You can use pretty much any low (about 3 psi) pressure electric pump with out a regulator.
Put it anywhere it's convenient as long as it's not near a heat source.

There were on mine. When I removed my vacuum petcock, I found that there was 5/16 from the tank to the fuel filter (that U shaped line) and from the fuel filter to the petcock. Out of the petcock to the fuel pump was 1/4". Mine is a '99, so it
should be similar, the only way to be sure is to measure, and IMO measuring the flange is more accurate than measuring the hose, which will stretch, harden, crack, etc. over time.
I installed quick disconnects and an inline filter, using the QDs to step down from the 5/16" out of the tank to 1/4" to the pump. (5/16" barb on one QD, 1/4" on the other.)
How do you bend the fuel line without kinking it?
I think my fuel pump is bad. Is CA cycleworks replacement good?

Oh yea, going to an electric pump also gets ride of those vacuum hoses (the 1/4" lines you are talking about).

With the inline filter, I didn't need to bend the fuel line, but I located the filter on my homemade battery box, which the coils and fuel pump is also mounted to (I had to get a little creative). It is an extremely clean look without the vacuum lines and pod filters. I highly recommend it.
But, if you have to bend the fuel lines much, your gonna need something stiffer than the Motion Pro stuff, maybe the preformed Pirelli lines that Ducati originally used ???
