Title: looking for a new tank...
Post by: jbolle on March 24, 2009, 05:27:31 PM
So, my girlfriend went down on her 2002 Monster 750 S earlier this week.  Luckily it was at low speed and she is fine.  However, the rebuilding now begins and I'm looking for a tank that will fit.  I've already hit craigslist, ebay, and trolled the classifieds here.  Any other ideas?  Thanks.

better idea...contact DucPainter here on the board, and find out what turn around time is and have him repair/paint it for her.

I wish that were an option.  The tank is pretty badly messed up.  I think we will be better off buying a known good tank and having it painted to match if necessary.

Thanks, she is doing well, just two pretty badly skinned knees.

I'll keep an eye on ebay.  Hopefully something will pop up soon.

I have a black FI tank from a 2005 Monster. It has two dings where the handle bars touched. You could ask around if it can be retrofitted to your bike. I can let it go for cheap. Btw, ducpainters repaired tanks are better than new.
