having put a number of miles on both the CTS and the 335, I can honestly say I'd take the Caddy.. Not the first time in my life. When I was 16 I almost got a Sedan Deville Convo instead of my Jeep. But for different reasons this time. The general's finally done it. These cars are nice. And great for driving. And that was the sedan. I'm sure a CTS-V coupe would be a trick and a half. After all, that alloy small block is no slouch.
That's a pretty sweet ride.
I was just looking at the Cadillac website and they also have the CTS-V, which has 556 HP :o
The Coupe concept car is a turbo diesel:

i know nothing about caddies.....
except that they are butt ugly IMO... :P
My dad used to say Caddies are for dead people. ;D
no wonder i always see them driven by grey haired drivers who cant see over the steering wheel.
i just assumed they drove like that because they where sleeping..
I would drive a CTS-V
JM
Isn't the coupe based on the Corvette?
I have to say, I do like the styling.
never liked the new caddy front grill and light design.
still don't, way too boxy and angular looking.
sure you say lamborghini does that angular look with the gallardo and it looks good, but when caddy does it on a larger scale it just looks too heavy, and ugly in the process.
fix that front of the car a bit and then we are talking.
6.2L Supercharged V8 LSA....says summer '10 for production of the standard and V.

I used to drive a 96 Eldorado ETC.
The northstar 32valve motor had it's problems... but running strong wasn't one of them.
330hp from the factory, that sucker picked up like no car i'd ever driven.
Sounded like a make the beast with two backsing MONSTER too. Especially on that one day the muffler fell off completely...
LOUD.
I love the CTS.
I've owned a few Caddies. My favorite car I have ever owned was my 1996 Seville STS. A few minor mods and the thing was an incredible sleeper. Plus the Northstar was bulletproof. It rode well, got 25+ mpg on the highway. Was very comfy. And looked good to boot.
One of the more recent absolutely insane giggle inducing cars I have driven was the CTS-V belonging to a friend. His wife just got an M3 for her birthday. Anyway, the CTS-V was an absolute blast to drive. Not like Ariel Atom or Lotus Elise fun but for a sedan, probably the most fun I have had on 4 wheels in a long time.
And while I can't say the Science and Technology styling is my favorite, I will say that it is alot better than a few of the other directions that they could have gone.
I used to not like Caddys but these new ones are not the great big ocean going ships of yester-year. They used to be like driving you living room couch but it seems no more. Now its more like, do I get the 5 series BMW, the E350 Merc or the Caddy?

Looks good, except for the front end and headlights. Looks like a sporty car with an old man's front end attached. :-\
I would drive that car, no problem.
One of the most fun cars I have ever been in was a supercharged CTS-V. Some custom-shop outfit "Perfection Motorsports" had done a lot of work to it, and it sounded like a full-bred racecar. People on Broadway / 2nd Ave in downtown Nashville had no idea what was going on.

Bleh...
And maybe I can get a 2 for 1 deal. Take home a CTS coupe and a DTS with spinners and fringe around the windows.
Hell Yeah ;D

I think he is just browsing around for a car that he likes. Nothing wrong with that.
I posted a thread a while back about car shopping.
Starting with looking at a H3, then a Tahoe, then an outback, but settled with a 2003 Lexus Rx300
I dont see a problem with what Beck is posting.

yeah...like that for last 20 years or so for me. ;D
My Brother has a '99 Cadillac Deville Concours w, the Northstar and he drives it like a sports car.
I had a '95 Eldorado ETC and it was as far as I can remember a very nice car.
The main problem I have w, the CTS is a lot of the interior bits are plastic and cheap looking. Same thing w, the Corvette's interiors.
The interior of all the Bimmers I've had ( 12 ) have always had quality materials. From the '88 M-6 to the '02 Z-8 which was incredible.( 2 very collectible cars the I wish I had kept ).
As usual I found something I liked better . Always the latest and greatest next edition ( except where the Z-8 was concerned) , although I did get the 1st US '05 Porsche (997 ) 911 CarreraS with the 385 hp engine , new cockpit layout , CCCB brakes w, yellow Calipers , Chronograph mounted on the dash and rode like a Magic Carpet it was so smooth.
I can't drive those cars anymore due to really bad Arthritis of the knees and hips. Can't get in and out . Soon it seems , I won't be able to ride Sport bikes due to the pain . Dolph
