Title: Clutch piston ?
Post by: greenmonster on March 25, 2009, 12:28:42 PM
Renovated my clutch reservoir and the piston is supposed to stay about 1/2" in
so the rubber hood can be fitted.
What`s the trick to get the piston to stay this bit in?
All new bits are the same as the old ones.

Which master cylinder do you have?

I think 13 mm piston in square integrated fluid/piston clutch assembly.
It`s factory standard, bike is a 1991 907IE, nothing unusual.

If it's like the other Brembo masters I've rebuilt...

One of the pieces that goes in before the boot is a washer, sort of.
Gotta push that *all* the way in, until it seats against the shoulder.

Can you post a picture, showing the bore of the master?

Where did you get the kit / parts?
