For those that don't venture to the "Sponsors" section:
Some congratuations are in order for one of our esteemed sponsors. September of 2008 Chris Kelley at ca-cycleworks.com laid down the gauntlet: "Get a list of 25-30 interested parties and I will make a tank". For those that don't know, the Hypermotard has one drawback, a 3.3 gallon tank. Gas light on at 90 miles is common. Anyway, a few days later the list is in place. It actually grew to 60 plus names. Now, about 6 months later the tank is done and shipped. I just finished installing mine and celebrated by putting in 6.61 gallons of fuel. [clap] At my current 40 MPG I should start seeing 230 miles on the tripmeter before my fuel light comes on. A 260 mile range will be sweet.
It's nice to have vendors like Chris available to call on a whim so you can ask them to drop 30K plus on R&D. Thanks Chris. [beer]

No pics yet. It looks stock. You lose the airbox (go to pods), move the battery a bit, but for the most part everything stays the same.

Props to Chris!
Maybe he can figure out the melting problem with the current Ducati plastic tanks since he has quickly become an expert in the field.

That is really cool. Anychance of an S2R tank? I get about 90 before light. Sucks.
pretty sure chris has a new monster track tank that holds somewhere round 5gal that is close to production.
there's a thread around here somewheres.
That's awesome that they're finished! [thumbsup] [thumbsup] The small capacity of the stock HMT tank sucks.

Thanks,

Let me get this right. You just fixed the one reason I would not have bought a Ducati HM... [beer]
Now I have to figure out a way to afford a HM ??? [bang]
Anyone wanna give me 10k for my M750? Didn't think so...
6.6 gal is great. I wish there were a way to get more than 4.3 capacity out of the new Monster tank. I don't mind that the new Monster tank doesn't look like a monster, but couldn't the capacity go up if the airbox top is off or if pod filters are used?
Doesn't seem worth while to go to all that trouble just to get an extra .5 gal. That's only 17 extra miles on my bike. Price of the track tank is very good. [thumbsup]

I know that R&D takes a lot of time and money but how about a tank for those who like to be on the bike all day. Maybe for those who have copped the air box or have pods. a good 6 or 7 gal tank would be awesome i would definitely switch to pods for that, or chop the box even more than it is now.
Hey Everyone,
Yes! The Hyper tank is shipping! Sorry to those who are now tormented... [evil]
Thanks for the attention on the Monster tanks, but let's please talk about that on a different thread... I believe those points are pretty well covered in the other thread. :) Now I can focus more attention on the MTT tank!
Thanks!
Chris
Thank you for your hard work chris!
