Has anybody here ever bought any gear from this site. www.spareshack.com (http://)
Looks the goods, but a bit sus about buying gear from the UK (been stung before from another bike site) :'( :-[

Looking at either a full exhaust system or cat eliminator pipe.

I know this guy was sick or had a crash or something sometime back.
I sent him a query and it took about 3-4 months for him to get back to me with an apology.

I'd send him a couple of question and see how quickly he responds, for me that is usually a good guide to service.

Spareshackused to have a site in Aust. - the guy was in Melbourne.

I purchased a CF bear tray and intergrated tailight right when they closed down there operation here in Aust. The Site closed down vertually the week after my order!

The parts arrived however posted from the UK store and I was charged a lot more (on my credit card) than I agreed.

Got the parts  :) but never got a resolution on the charges. :(

The intergrated taillight only lasted about 2 years as it had 2 circuit board in it and the connection broke which was a real pain. I soldered it back to gether at least twice until I messed it up and only half the LED's wound work.  I wouldn't get on like this again as there are better ones around from clear alternatives.

I'd go with Monsterparts or CA Works rather than the UK. the exchange rate is better as well.

I emailed the store owner Joe in the UK and he replyed within a day with prices etc.
Prices were great but freight yeesh! was more than I thought.

I'm definitely not going to write them off just yet.
More homework needed. will check CA Works out

I'd say most of have used Monsterparts at some point.
Jeff is very good, his shipping is reasonable but very fast which is the plus side.

The problem I had with the extra charges was related to shipping.

From memory they one of the items was of the shelf and the other came from Italy and I was charged for both shipping from both destinations. Made it really expensive!

We bought some scooter bits from the UK (Lambrettas aren't so huge in the US  ;D) and the postage was a joke!

We bought a few different things from the one place to save on postage and in the end it was cheaper to send them as individual pieces  :o. So we ended up with all these individually packaged pieces arrive together ... bloody weird

Bugger buying from Europe !! Bought a bellypan from Italy and the postage/shipping was just short of double the Item cost. :o

I bought some stuff off them way back when the .com.au website was working, and I got it in about 8 days delivered from the UK (at, if I recall correctly, a few bucks under the quoted cost due to exchange rate fluctuations on the shipping price...)

Used to be run by a guy named Stuart who was active on TOB 5 or 6 years back...

having said that (and I agree - most European countries are charging a fortune) there are the odd exception....that place tht sold the Phillips x-treme lightbulbs was something incredibly cheap to post....like $4 or even free I think!

When everyone had money had over fist (ah, the good ole days) and the currency was strong....UK was still a disaster to deal with.

now.....well let's just say that if they can't attract business when it's raining money....

Spider- at this stage I'm just seeing who has what for the future, but mainly looking at exhaust systems, clutch bling and just some little bits and pieces.
I've got a mate who is traveling to Italy at the end of this year, so just getting things sussed now so we can organize purchases etc. (he has a monster too)

A friend of mine SMSed me from the Ducati Factory (mostly to boast that she was there) asking if I needed any parts - as it turned out, I'd misplaced my sidestand bolt, so I told her to grab me one while she was there - they couldn't help and told her she'd need to go to someplace completely across the city to order one.

That sure sounds like Italian service!

the Italians usually do internet worse than the British....and that's saying something!

The Termi site was down for over a year.....and the Zard site has...well......dissappeared!

Once tried to find a shop in Vicenza, Italy so I could buy a Campagnolo component (factory is a few km from the city)....no chance!

Just cause Ferrari's are made in Modena doesn't mean your going to see/buy/hear/get spare parts/experience any!
