I wouldn't mind seeing Ducati reviving the ST.  The Mulitstrada is not exactly my cup of tea

I vote boobies.  They already have a pretty diverse line that appeals to many different types of riders.  The more models they produce the higher the risk of financial collapse.  I dont want them to fold so I vote for no additional models.

I voted for the "mono" options, but my original post specified a "traditional" motorcycle with a newly-designed Ducati single engine, i.e. a modern version of this:

or this:

They are sort of halfway between a cruiser and a traditional tourer.

An 1198 ST as light as possible with full power, sssa under seat exhaust and and maybe with primary gears to start life with a 16t front sprocket so gearing choices could be easier -  using the wheelbase of the Street Fighter maybe.

Same as above with a three valve head and tuned for torque might work too.

[slight jack]

I don't know about the 848/1198 cases, but a 16 on the earlier motors would cause the chain to saw into the cases.

I liked the desmotre head too, but I think it was too many things to support at once, which is why I don't think they'll come out with an original single, but you never know.

I voted for the SS and boobies, but I would also have voted for the ST. The wife is showing some interest in riding 2 up and the Multi is not exactly for the vertically challenged.

I'd like an ST, a new SS, and somebody to redesign the front end of the Multistrada so I will buy it. The front is the only thing keeping it in the showroom and not in my garage (well. lack of cash is also problematic)

Either a new (cheaper) supermono or an ever more classic looking replacement for the SS

Or better yet, a classic looking, fully faired mono  ;D
