Title: High Desert Hooligan News Post by: ducducgooseme on March 27, 2009, 01:33:51 PM Hey gals, guys and gargoyles!
Some High Desert Hooligan news for you... 1) Thanks to Vicki Smith (DNA) and Marco Rimondi (Ducati Italy), all of the renewal paperwork is complete (3 copies of my DNA and my left nutt needed), you will see us listed (our gargoyle even) on Ducati.com shortly. This is exciting news. Especially if we go to Italy for WDW as we talked about last year. The benefits of being a DOC are many. (this is what we get access to in the USA, the website and DOC paperwork list all the “official” benefits but some help the euro clubs more because they are closer to the factory). Here it’s verbal as well as literal access to the factory, a shorter string so to speak. Between Marco and Vicki we have access to information, invitations to private signings and meetings with the CEO and other factory “big brains” , plus we have access to help with events, etc. Direct benefits include Foremost insurance discounts, the DesmoRosso program (touring Italy on Ducatis for discounted rates!!) and Project Mugello at Indy which you need to be a DOC member to participate in. 2) Shirts are ordered and will be completed April 3rd!! They are pretty damn good quality screen printing! I ordered based on your requests, and put up all the money, so please be sure to pay me. I prefer paypal or cash (my bank isnt around these parts so checks is a pain in the ass), so just PM me for the account or address to send cash. To refresh our memories, here are what you requested. (w is a woman's cut). If you didnt get your order to me and still want a shirt, no worries, as you can see I bought extra under my name for just that reason. I will have way too many shirts for me...so pass the word for those FNG's that want them. Cost turned out to be only $12 because I got us over 30 shirts! cooolio. Once I get paid, I will send out a box to one of you to distribute on DucNite. Who Size Quantity Larry 2xl 2 Karl L 1 Pam M 1 Krystle S 1 Krystle M 1 w Keith S 2 Rose M 2 w Fred M 2 JJ M 1 Gloria M 2 w Gloria L 1 Matt XL 1 Mav L 1 Mav m 1 w Skin XL 4 Skin L 4 Skin XL 1 w Adrianna L 2 3) As part of the Ducati Owners Club registration, I put down the link to the NMMR section of the DMF for our club web site. However, some have posted recently that they are not really digging the rules of the DMF and may wish to have our own chat forum or website as the CDC, Hoosier Hooligans, etc have done.. This is fine, but that means we will start to have to pay dues to cover it and someone other than me, has to volunteer to set it up and maintain it. What are your thoughts? Discuss Miss you guys and hope to be back soon. Title: Re: High Desert Hooligan News Post by: Underblog on March 27, 2009, 03:56:56 PM Where do I sign up / pay up?

Now that we are an official DOC, go to http://www.ducati.com/news/09/news_club/welcomekit/kit.jhtml (http://www.ducati.com/news/09/news_club/welcomekit/kit.jhtml) and sign up! Though the swag you get is well, uh, silly...you do get some good perks for Ducati tix at WSBK and MotoGP, as well as free admission to the Ducati Museum, etc. We are listed toward the bottom as High Desert Hooligans (cuz the crazy I-talians cant put things in alphabetical order) enjoy. (btw, you dont need to enter the Ducati Code) Title: Re: High Desert Hooligan News Post by: kingbaby on May 06, 2009, 05:51:41 PM I ...apparently... am far too dumb to navigate the site. I think mouse has actually warped my common sense.
That...or Vodka. I'm totally cool with both. [thumbsup] Title: Re: High Desert Hooligan News Post by: ducducgooseme on May 06, 2009, 06:24:23 PM and I thought you were a tequila type o guy.
As long as you leave the duc code blank, it seems to work. Did it error out on ya? Title: Re: High Desert Hooligan News Post by: kingbaby on May 06, 2009, 07:59:40 PM Oh yeah, and that :)
I just want to get to the part where I could put in a code if I wanted to. Title: Re: High Desert Hooligan News Post by: Underblog on May 07, 2009, 04:18:41 AM It's a little confusing. From http://www.ducati.com/news/09/news_club/welcomekit/kit.jhtml (http://www.ducati.com/news/09/news_club/welcomekit/kit.jhtml), click on "2009 DOC Welcome Kit Request Form". From THAT page, scroll down to High Desert Hooligans. It will let you check boxes for owning multiple bikes and being a member of multiple clubs.

Join us Friday November 27th from 6-8pm for a special Ducati Riders Open House. PJ's and the High Desert Hooligans will be hosting an open house with Ducati factory stunt rider Ernie Vigil. We'll have finger foods drinks and extending our Black Friday sale after hours. This is an event for all Ducati riders and enthusiasts. Ernie Vigil worked as the stunt rider on the Jim Carey film Yes Man. During a break from shooting Ernie borrowed one of the Hypermotards and made a video of himself stunting. Within hours of posting the video on YouTube Ducati contacted Ernie. Since then he has been wowing crowds at the races, IMS shows and in competition aboard the Hyper. Ironically enough Ernie is a New Mexican and shot the film right here in Albuquerque. He'll be doing a little demonstration for us during the open house. High Desert Hooligans are our local, official Ducati club. They will be helping us out with the open house and letting you know about their events, rides and get-togethers. Participating in the club is a great way to share your passion for Ducati. Make sure you take time to talk to them about being a part of this fun club and make the most of your Ducati experience. We'll be having our first ever Black Friday, Employee Pricing Sale as well and are going to keep all the deals going during the open house. We're expecting a big shipment from Italy of Ducati apparel at amazing prices. We'll be sending out another email next week with details on the sale so keep your eyes peeled. Lastly if you come out and are driving a car please park across the street as we need the parking lot for the stunt show. Thanks and I hope to see you here, PJ Hooligans I hope you guys can make the party! Wish you could be there Lorenzo, but I would take a trip to Vegas over it also. See ya' down the road! Except myself, of course. Title: Re: High Desert Hooligan News Post by: ducducgooseme on March 08, 2010, 11:15:52 AM The NMMR has never had any type of official leadership. I merely volunteered to get all the paperwork going and get the group recognized with Ducati North America, get a logo, tshirts, etc.
Given that I moved, I figured I would unvolunteer myself [thumbsup] I am still a moderator to keep the old rifff raff from the ex board from poking up. Tis all. Title: Re: High Desert Hooligan News Post by: bonfy on March 08, 2010, 11:32:56 AM I have a problem with authority figures. Except myself, of course. Me, too. It's bad. On the NMMR leadeship thing, when I moved up to Colorado and attended a SoCO DOG meeting, it was a formalized dealio, much to my dismay. They were at the point where elections were due. Unbelievably, I got talked into accepting the role of VP, snd I only accepted it because usually a VP has zero authority or responsibility. Guess what. The President stepped down and the secretary had the nerve to go off and have a baby. Needless to say, the club has fallen apart, under my "leadership". That will teach me to accept a role thinking I'd be invisible. These cats up here are hard enough to even get out for rides much less hang out for races and ducnights. Well, I am just posting up get-togethers once in awhile and the usual suspects show up and that is the way the Dogs roll. Now that Pete is gone, it is down to KRJ and Butch. We are so happy to have Dusty up here to add to our ranks. She will probably migrate even further north though and merge into the MHM crew. But, as with me, once an NMMR member, always a NMMR member. [moto] for life! Title: Re: High Desert Hooligan News Post by: ducducgooseme on March 08, 2010, 11:40:58 AM We are like the crips or the bloods... blood in, blood out [thumbsup]

Talked with Zaster today, & he has hooked us up BIG TIME with an account at any Carquest in the city [bow_down]. This is NOT a charge account, but a discount on parts... many which cross over to our bikes. If you have part #'s to match up or cross ref. pm me & I will pass on info for Zaster to look up (Royal Purple oil...I'm in!). We are trying to get a list of part #'s, or descriptions for motos or cars so he doesn't have to look up one at a time to see what type of deal you can get. If we can get it somewhere else for less, he said he would talk with the "Big Man" & try to at least match it. Me personally, The fact they want to help us as a group & Zaster is the Operations MGR., I'm in regardless. Any special orders will have to be paid in full, and will be shipped to my home address (would be a conflict of intrest if he were the contact address for billing or shipping). This paired with what PJ & Moto Authority do for all of us is a great gift. There are great deals online I know, but, isn't it great to know that these folks are right down the street & are our friends, and always hookin' us up as much as they can? Scottish, Plumber & Ratfink. I can see you guys already rubbin' your hands together. Thank you again, Zaster. HANDS! yes HANDS together.. of course.. :o Sounds like one hell of a deal to me. Not sure I've ever gotten anything from Carquest before. Seen them deliver at the dealership but never used them personally.
Title: Re: High Desert Hooligan News Post by: Zaster on March 24, 2010, 01:52:04 PM I will post locations and phone numbers as soon as the account is activated and I can supply you with the account number. ;)

Gonna need to find a place to work on it, but I have a feeling some trips to Carquest are in my future. [thumbsup]

[clap] '65 and it was the original F/E the 352, I think it morphed to the 360 in the next year. I got it from a guy who knew nothing about them and assumed it was a 360/390 for a couple years. I bought parts for it that way until I needed a head gasket and ran the numbers to be sure. 352 left me scratching my head for a minute.I think the 61-62 were the unibodies, 63 had a straight I beam front axle, I think 64 was the year they switched to twin I-beam. Title: Re: High Desert Hooligan News Post by: Scottish on March 26, 2010, 06:03:39 AM Hey Karl, I don't know where it went I thought I saw an offer to assist... maybe it was Facebook. Anyway I would like to take you up on that if you have a couple minutes tomorrow. I'll work on unbolting the rest of the cab and bed tonight, I have my Dad here but it's one of those jobs that are easier the more people you have. Ring me back if you're available and as always my deepest thanks.
I'm wanting to start a motorcycle repair/maintence biz. If I get this thing going you'll have some store credit! ;) [cheeky] Title: Re: High Desert Hooligan News Post by: Zaster on March 26, 2010, 08:56:53 AM Will do...I'll call you this afternoon
