Hey

you feel the steering start to get mushy and you calmly pull over to the side of the road and call a buddy with a truck.

Umm....at 60 mph+? Is there really a way to recover safely?

Others will chime in, but I have never seen a catastrophic instant loss of pressure.   So, yes.    Nail or cut is not like a pole through the spokes.

what are you envisioning hitting for your scenario?

I've lost the rear pressure at 80. The bike just feels like its slowing down and handling poorly. It was easy to pull over and see what the issue was. I wouldn't worry about it.

Yep, the hallmarks of pressure loss are that the bike feels heavy.  I had the valve in my front wheel jam open just a tiny bit one time.  The low pressure wasn't noticeable on the straight, but as soon as I had to turn, it felt like the bars were pushing back at me.

Low rear, the bike will feel.. lazy.  Slower to respond to any control inputs, steering or throttle.

Now a sudden catastrophic pressure loss- AKA blow out... um... pray?

Tire engineers test flat tires by riding bikes around a track with zero pressure in the tires, pretty much to make sure nothing crazy happens, and the tires actually stay on the wheels.  The tires still work, they just handle horribly!
I'm not sure what would happen if your tire actually exploded though! :o

Scary thought but that's reality for us,my rear had a blow out couple of years ago doing 100km/hr on a freeway and man...scared the shit out of me,it handled terribly ,i did pull it on the side safely though. But to think of the front tire blow out? man.... prayer might be the right answer.
