Title: This Destroys My Mental Image of Scarlett Jo...
Post by: desmoquattro on March 30, 2009, 08:12:39 AM

...the National Enquirer has broken the marital silence with a report of a recent close call while riding has Scarlett Johansson asking her new husband to give up riding.

I hope she gets educated...quick. The posters are coming off the garage walls...

He seems like a pretty level-headed guy.   Regardless of how hot she is  [evil], I hope he doesn't cave in to the pressure to give up riding.  :-\

I suspect she's having a knee-jerk reaction to his close call on a bike.  It happens.

typical female behavior -- part of the reason she likes him is what makes him want to ride, so let's get rid of that...

That's the kinda thing that needs to be talked about early on IMO. I've talked about it with both my girlfriends after we were going out for a year and then if something like that is gonna end it, it'll end it early on.

You have two? I guess the motorcycle thing is an easy negotiation after that ;D

Yup.  My ex's attitude became increasing dismal toward motorcycles.  She took the MSF and couldn't master the clutch on the Ninja 250.  So, she took her frustrations out on my desire & ability to ride.  She was fresh out of the MSF, and started telling me all the things I was doing wrong.  Then she dumped the Ninja 250 twice then sold it.  Had we gotten married the bikes would have been gone or we'd have been divorced within a year.

Actually one of the more important things I've discussed with girlfriends was that should I get the chance, it is perfectly okay if I sleep with Scarlett.

As far as bikes, I had one girl try and threaten me out of riding (she claimed she was going to tell my parents, who were of course, opposed). I got out of the car and left her there, never to be seen again.

Priorities.

WTF? Nutcase. Good pick on the current one instead.  ;D

Yea, she loves him now and is trying to "save his life".  Later she'll be having an affair with somebody on a movie set and bootin his young ass out.

Like said, part of what makes the guy interesting to her is the same glimpse of bad boy risk taking behavior that makes bikes interesting to him.

Most Hollywood marriages don't last that long.  Either she'll be dumping him or he'll be dumping her. [popcorn]

I hate the cliche the article ends with. I'm not saying I'm immune to crashing, but I certainly don't need to crash to feel like a bona fide motorcycle enthusiast.

other than that, spot on. He beats Brad Pitt's custom duc & Angelina w/ the Paul Smart & Scarlett Johansen.

I don't think the cliche is meant to imply that crashing is a badge of honor. I think it's there more to imply that crashing is part of riding and everyone does it eventually so it's not something to worry about.

It goes both ways.  In fact, I suspect men are worse when they don't ride and the woman does.  It's the whole "protect the little woman" thing.

I'd have to disagree with that one. I would be majorly bummed if my fiance for some reason quit riding, and never in my life would I expect him to give it up. Even if I didn't like it just as much as he did, why take away something he enjoys that much? That makes no sense at all.

I like this quote:

Quote"We're constantly connected to information and stimulation," Ryans tells Mens Health, "On a bike, there's none of that. It would take an extremely talented imbecile to send a coherent email from a motorcycle at 80 m.p.h."

Ohh yeah, Scarlett's hot too.

ah yes...the date the bad boy and marry the accountant problem.  (and if it's the same guy you must turn one into the other).

raise your hand if you know any female social workers who are trying to 'save' their rocker hardcore guys (who were attracted to them because of those same attributes).

not knocking anyone...we do it too....date the stripper but then want to cover her up as the gf when you go out because she dresses inappropriately...hahahahha.

On the other hand...the professional bad boy is hard to find.   I know three great looking attorneys who are a lot of fun who just can't find a guy who isn't either totally boring (but financially solvent) or completely wasted (but fun badboy).

I had fun at the office the other day when they were complaining about it.  I said I'd love to stay and chat about it, but I had to take the Duc to see someone about getting another tattoo, so could they please lock the office up when they were done working.

I refuse to be boring, and I think G likes it that way.

Dude... I'll be back someday. Help a friend out... I pulled your dock out of the water...

No love.. no love..

The article concludes:
"There are only two types of riders... Those that have been down and those that are going down."

On Scarlett?

You married an actress and you got drama. Don't tell us your surprised. Please.

I've seen the same behavior in bands, probably more than with bikes. Here's the progression:
Musician is gigging steady.
Musician is banging strange on a regular basis.
Meets hot chick.
Hot chick is down with whole lifestyle, maybe brings her girlfriend over, if you know what I'm saying.
Relationship gets serious.
Musician has trouble making rehearsals and a few gigs once in a while.
Musician gets married.
Musician leaves band.
Next seen pushing a baby carriage in a mall with that look on his face from the Invasion of the Body Snatchers - not the remake with Nicole Kidman, the Donald Sutherland version.

If I had a dime for every time I've seen this I could buy a new rear shock.

He should just buy her a Monster, a 1-piece leather riding suit (Rossi tight for safety) and get her to go ride with him.

Oh yeah, and take a lot of pictures of her getting ready..........yumm...... [bacon]

Fixed.

She's goofy looking.  I think that all you're seeing is boobs and blonde hair.  Otherwise, she looks like Goofy.

Did you see her in The Island? I will agree that in some movies, she was not that great looking.

hmmm  (fyi, the 1978 movie was a remake of a 1950s version)

And to the subject at hand...I think he should have stayed with Alanis. That chick rode a Monster.  [thumbsup]

That's beside the point. It's about Scarlet Jo and Monsters. It doesn't matter whether it's true or not ;D
