Title: Paint my fridge Post by: DosVerde on March 31, 2009, 02:11:55 AM The radiator on the S4R is starting to flake paint off the header tanks (those bits on the sides). I don't think it likes the bug guts staying on for too long, so it's looking a bit tatty.
So i'm thinking I should get it painted at some stage, earlier if it's easy. I assume I have to take the radiator off and take it to a specialist, or could I take it to a painter and they mask it and spray it? The other option is if there are "covers" that wrap arount to protect and hide the flaking. Anyone got any ideas on how I could tackle this? in between episodes of Battlestar Galatica and Buffy. Title: Re: Paint my fridge Post by: DosVerde on March 31, 2009, 02:19:50 AM buy a can of radiator paint and do it yourself! Does the "radiator paint" you speak of come in black? I was thinking about painting it in black and doing the oil cooler at the same time. Can I use a paint brush? Spraying better, as the brush can sometimes make the paint clog the fins, depending how fine. Also be careful cleaning, seen some nasty work from sandblaster, you have to set the pressure lower. Yes said radiator paint works well, highly reccomened for use on Colonial Vipers....... Cherrio. Madalf. |
