I have it set to hide my email and yet it still shows. Was hidden yesterday and now it is showing again.
It's always visible to you, even if hidden. We're doing some work on the theme, and that may be why it's disappearing and reappearing from your userbox on posts. Have no fear, even as an admin I don't see a link to view your email address...
