Hello!

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my '09 696.  I have been told that it should be delivered in the next week or two, so it is time to order the accessories.  I particularly want to protect the bike in the event of a tip-over.  Do the axle or swing-arm sliders offer any protection in a tip-over, or will they even make contact with the ground?

I imagine that frame sliders would do more in that kind of sitch. esp the really ugly long kind (like cyclecat's  ;D )

mine's bailed me out twice  [thumbsup]  not sure what sliders are out for the 696 yet, though

I am definitely getting the frame sliders, but I am on the fence in regards to the others.

Those are the sliders I have planned on.  The fork slider and swing-arm sliders were from Rhinomoto.

There was a thread a few months ago that mentioned axle sliders and barend sliders saved their bike from damage.

I do plan on the bar-end sliders as well, as I really want the CRG Hindsight mirrors.  I guess if I actually had the bike it would be clearer whether or not the fork and swing-arm sliders make contact in a tip-over from a stop.

Someone have a pic of these installed on a SSS Monster I can see ?

frame sliders are best for typical newbie drops like at a stop sign or slow parking-lot speed drops.

axle and swingarm stuff comes into play when you slide it down the pavement at higher speed....lowside track etc.

G's frame sliders have protected the 620 from at least 4 drops at zero speed.

If you go with the CRG's you should look at the lane splitters.  My bike fell while parked (cause parking on a hill in neutral is dumb) and the frame sliders took the fall but the ability of the LS mirror to fold in probably saved it from cracking. 

In that drop nothing touched the ground but the frame slider, foot peg, shifter, handle bar and clutch lever.

My frame sliders and bar-end sliders have helped out in 2 low-speed drops.  My fork sliders have not seemed to touched anything in either incident.

Yes, I will likely go with the Hindsight LS for that reason alone as lane splitting is not legal here.

So I had self caused kick-stand malfunction this morning. The bike went down and the speedymoto sliders saved my bacon!

I snapped the end of my clutch lever, but I have new ones on order anyway. My Oberon bar end mirrors got a bit dingged, but I'll just paint out the scratches and I'll leave the slider as is for a reminder... the only part I need to replace is my bent gear lever (which still works)

So the moral of this story... Definitely get the sliders when you get the bike. My M1100 is one week old!

I feel your pain.  I dropped my Bandit twice.  The sliders for the Monster are ordered!

Yeah... I ordered sliders ASAP from speedymoto under advisement.  But where do I get these bar end sliders?

I ordered my bar end sliders from Motowheels.

motovationusa.com also has nice sliders.  I have their bar-ends on my Bandit, and their axle sliders on my Monster.
