I came across this this morning on MSN. I'm not sure why anyone would even compare a bike and a car, let alone these two.
"Yes, the Hypermotard can handle one passenger. But as a vessel to transport gear and people, the Fit claims an easy victory." Bike vs car...no sh** right?

The part where the Honda filling the rear view mirrors was funny as was calling a two valve 8000 rpm redline air cooled L twin high strung.
At least they got the verdict right:
QuoteWinner: Ducati.

Better yet get both! ;D

Which is better-a ham sandwich or complete happiness?

I believe happiness comes in small doses... so a ham sammich IS happy ^_^
that article was a fun read. pointless, but fun.
I personally would rather commute on a Ducati any day of the year than a car, and I live in the Portland Oregon area (see all definitions of 'rain'). I commute on my bike all year long, I hated it in my car, the Duke makes it fun and refreshing instead of a drag and a drain, even in the rain.
The Doc
I'd take the ham sandwich.
Nothing is better than complete happiness, and a ham sandwich is better than nothing so.....ham!
Bring ham.

very clever.
Yeah, why a HMT? there are other bikes out there that are less expensive, have wind protection and get better mileage. It's not like they were comparing a Ducati to a sports car. Hell, a better comparison would have been a MTS to the fit...
The writers at the magazine just wanted an excuse to get their hands on a Hypermotard. Can you blame them?
I should try that at work. "Hey boss I think we should evaluate this new software package against a Desmosedici and we should see how the software performs in Hawaii vs Thailand."
I was gonna post this yesterday too. [thumbsup] [laugh]
At least they qualified the filled mirror comment a little by saying:
"But on test day, Glendora was a minefield. Recent rainstorms had loosened debris from above and caused dirt and softball-size rocks to roll down onto the road. It takes a special kind of bravado (or stupidity) to ride a motorcycle at 10/10ths when every corner hides a mudslide. And we did dial back our speed. Still, short of a full-fledged enduro, this Hypermotard was as well-suited to the challenging terrain as any ride."

Now that's a real question ! There may not be a clear winner on that one.
Now if you said which is better: a good steak, or any Cleveland Browns Football team in the last 20 years ? Dolph :) (Cleveland Browns fan since 1960 )
Duc Hyper S vs. the Honda Fit

I was half expecting the Honda to win do to the ridiculous idea of even comparing the two.

I just read this with a coworker who rides also...we were on the floor laughing. This is good comedy.
Is the Honda really better at getting groceries? It depends on how much time you have and how much you like to ride.

My instinct is to go with a good steak.
But, to be fair, I've never tried grilling any of the 1976 pittsburgh steelers defensive.
I really don't have enough information to make a choice.
My non-riding dad sent me this link earlier today; my first thought was that to get nearly 50 mpg on a Hyper, there's got to be almost no time with just one wheel on the ground...
Interesting. The Fit and the Goldwing are similarly priced. They should have compared those.

Yeah, and the Goldwing has a bigger trunk, better stereo, and colder AC.

The defensive line would provide more meat, but it'd be tough.
Wow, they got almost 50mpg out of the motard? I barely get 45 on my monster.
I merged the threads under the later, but easier to find topic.
There's a third one around here somewhere...if it pops up I'll put it in here too.
